Thoughts on getting off Testosterone
Going to make this a long story short.
Did a cycle in 2008 and never did a proper PCT fast forward to 2013 wanted my levels tested and was in the 290 range taken at 8am. I was constantly feeling tired after getting roughly 8-9 hours sleep. I got tested again a month or so later at 2pm and my levels were 150. I know your testosterone is higher in the morning and you use it throughout the day. the doctor seen this and decided to put me on testosterone. I finally got a prescription for testosterone currently been on for about 6 months and just got my first levels back. I injected on wed and got tested the next wed and didn't give myself a shot because I wanted to see what my levels were 7 days after taking a shot. I waited until after I had gotten my shot so I could have a good 7 days number. I was 275 bw taken at 930 am. I was taken .5ml every wednesday of test cyp 200mg. after I seen my levels I personally bumped myself up to 1.0ml every wednesday. I have yet to get BW and I've done this for two weeks. my question is i was originally at 290 without testosterone and I was 275 taking .5 weekly, should I even be taking testosterone? my big reason for this is I may be doing some overseas work and not sure how they will look at me having to take a shot every week of test. also if my levels aren't that great taking a weekly does of test then what is the point? btw my doctor admits I know more about test than he does. great guy but just gives shots of test and not really giving the right blood workLast edited by cantrellsp; 09-27-2015 at 02:36 PM. You need to be on a regime for about 6 weeks before you get blood work.
If I am not mistaken... You took one shot and then one week later got blood work done.
Am I correct?

no, I have have been on for 6 months. it just worked out that I took a shot on wed and the next wed I had BW scheduled so I didnt take my shot that morning because I wanted to know what my levels were 7 days after taking testosterone . I immediately took my shot after the bw was done

I've been kinda conducting experiments on myself to see how my body uses the test. I am going to go pay for a bw a day after my shot on thursday just to see how much my body currently has and that will kind of give me a number of how high I am after a shot and I already know what my body is at 7 days after. i am starting to think my body just uses testosterone at a rapid pace and maybe I don't need testosterone shots. also my doctor said I didnt need a PCT that my body would just go back to normal of i got off. has anybody else heard then same?

My advice would be to split your dose to app. 50 mgs x 2 per week. This way your serum levels remain more elevated and stable without the extreme trough level, which is what your BW indicated. Test will peak in about a day or so and has a half-life of about 5-7 days. Some people get by with once per week injections and do just fine, others do not. Yes, your current dose may be low (for you) but regardless, the twice weekly protocol (either IM or SQ) will benefit you both in stability and in assisting with less E2 conversion.
Going back to your natural levels would only mean you'd be at those poor levels on a daily basis and probably feel exactly like you did before. Take a look at this chart to give you an idea on what occurs when you inject testosterone and why smaller, more frequent injections may help you.

agreed- i take 2 shots per week (3.5 days between) subQ 75mg each- brings me in at 750 (280-1100) 1 day before my next pin.
i do it tues pm and sat am- my estrogen conversion is high i ended up slightly above full range 161 (30-160)- so im also taking arimidex at 0.25mg on each day of pin.
listen to kel, he knows what he says.
also dont give up the trt- 260 is not a level you can function at- persevere and get yourself dialled in using our advice.
ive been on trt for 9 months only and am still adjusting - one change at every bloodtest until you get it right - if you are lucky you will be good after a year of trial and error.
im hoping my next bloods will see me locked on .

1. There's no such thing as proper PCT, meaning there's no PCT that guarantees full recovery regardless of how well it's planned out.
2. Full recovery back to previous natural testosterone levels can take months months post PCT assuming no damage was done and no other hormones are being used during that time.
3. It does sound like you'd probably benefit from two injections per week. Not everyone needs 2x/wk, some do and some don't. Although the graph kelkel posted is accurate I'd also call it an average...the rate in which a man metabolizes testosterone can vary from one man to the next.
