Clomid or HCG?

Hwy guys,

So after 2 cycles and issues proceeding I decided to go the TRT route. I cycled a couple times a couple years ago and needless to say my body did not recover well. I recently started on TRT of 200mg per week of Cyp. My dr said he would prescribe me clomid to help with testicular atrophy and keep my sperm count up if I wanted. I did not ask him, but which would be a better long term solution? once a week clomid or HCG ?

Most here are on a min 250 IUs, 2 x week of HCG when on TRT. I've actually stopped the HCG during some recent overseas trips and can tell you I feel better on it. Personally, I havent heard (on here) of clomid being used in place of HCG while on TRT. Only in place of exogenous Test for TRT...

It was a first for me, but its what the DR recommended. Does it matter which day I pin the HCG in relation to Test?

Clomid will not keep you producing LF or FSH if you are shut down from test.
HCG is the way to go.

Not questioning you but could you point me to a study so I can show my doctor. He is an either/or guy between HCG and Clomid. He currently has me on Clomid and I'm wanting to swap to HCG so something other than just my opinion might be helpful.

I do it on Tues and Thur for convenience sake. There's a sticky on the first page for HCG which has a lot of good info. Google Dr. Crisler and you can show his HCG recommendations to your Doc - he's well known in TRT circles...
