Shut Down? Why Such a Wide Range of TRT Dosage if So?
So for years I was under the impression that TRT simply added additional Test to what the body was producing. Through the experts here, I have come to learn that your body completely shuts down Test production when you introduce foreign Test - no matter how little you introduce.
So I have 2 questions:
1. Is my statement above true? Does the body shut down production of Test completely upon the introduction of outside Test?
2. If so, why do some doctors prescribe as little as 75mg of test EW and as much as 300+ EW? If you shut down completely, shouldn't dosages be about the same for most? 7 years ago My doctor prescribed me 80mg every 2 weeks "because I was only a little low". Makes no sense if we really shut down completely?
Thanks,Last edited by DGenRit; 02-04-2016 at 06:05 PM.

1) Yes.
2) Individuals metabolize test at different rates. And it depends what range they are shooting for. Also, 300mg/week is really high for HRT. About 100 mg should be good for most.

Some docs either dont know much or they dont want the patient to know much.
If your doctor hasnt told you that phrase you would probably ask or inject more, only he knows if he actually meant it...

Thanks guys - Is this "complete shutdown" a theory or a proven scientific fact? And does it apply to everyone? Or varies by patient?
