    MK-677 dosage breaks

A couple weeks back, I recall someone mentioning that continuous daily dosing of Mk-677 can be suppressive to the hypothalamus. Dose anyone have a medical reference to support that statement, that I can pass along to my TRT doc?

She has me currently taking 12.5 mg nightly with no breaks. Just want to make sure I’m not doing unnecessary harm.

if your on medically prescribed MK677 , then the breaks may not be necessary because you wouldn't be being prescribed medical growth hormone support if you didn't already have a deficiency . so your natty production of GHRH from the hypothalamus is probably already shot.

just like with medical prescribed TRT . the reason your doc is prescribing it is because your natural production is shot. there wouldn't need to be a break from TRT every couple months to stop suppression of natty test , cause your permanently supressed to begin with .
its guys that are on self induced AAS use that need to take the breaks to restore natural production cause their natural production isn't shot.

same with MK677.. the guys taking it recreationally need to take breaks to keep the hypothalamus producing its own GHRH .

note: of course if your doctor did not do a thurough investigation in her reasoning for needing to prescribed MK in the first place ,, then who knows maybe your natty production is just fine and your just taking the MK677 recreationally as well and don't even need it and your doc is just making money off of you.

anyhow, I don't have any direct reference to medical studies. but its just common reasoning. MK677 is taking the place of naturally produced GHRH in the body (form the hypothalamus) and the MK677 is what then is telling your pituitary to pulse HGH.. being you have an exogenous source of GHRH coming in, the hypothalamus will stop producing to a degree. of course this is not near to the level of suppression like steroids are to the HPTA.
being your body generally produces GHRH every night and different times of the day ,, in my reasoning if you just take 2 days a week off from MK677, your hypothalamus will still pulse GHRH on its own to some degree on those days.

She was the one that brought up the idea after I mentioned some chronic knee pain + crackling / popping I was having. My IGF-1 was at 147 before the prescription. She said I was in range, but for my age (34) she thought I was on the lower side and the low dose mk-677 maybe able to help with my joints. The 12.5 mg nightly bumped my IGF-1 up to 219. Felt great and joint pain stopped, just made me hungry as fuck.

I initially had to buy through a compounding pharmacy they gave as one of a couple options. Figured I’d give it a couple months to see how much of a difference it made in my follow up labs. Since then I told them it was too pricey for my budget, and I’ve started buying it through a peptide website for 1/3 the price.

With all that said, you think I should be taking a day or two off a week, or keep taking it daily? I’m assuming the day or two off a week would be the safer route to take.

glad to see docs open minded enough to prescribe it and that it worked so well at raising your IGF.

Personally , I run it for about 4-5 days and take a couple days off and repeat. MK isn't something like TRT where you have to build up blood levels and then try to keep them maintained. it doesn't hurt to miss a couple days in a row and get a natty pulse of GHRH. it works tremendously fast, as you've probably noticed you were probably hungry the next day after the first dose.

one of thing you need to keep tabs on now. your blood glucose levels. buy a basic blood glucose meter and start tracking your fasting blood sugar. it'll likely be elevated from being on MK. if you take two days off then track it again and see what it drops to.
if you have previous blood work that shows your fasting blood sugar for reference point thats probably a good thing.

IF you end up being in chronically diabetic ranges of fasting blood sugar from months of MK usage, then its probably good to take a break from it . or begin adding in other measures to your protocol like Metformin, GDAs , or basal insulin or insulin mimetic/seretagouge.

note: the increase in blood sugar is not necessarily because the MK is causing insulin resistance , like a lot of people think with HGH and MK usage.. its simply part of the mechanism of action of HGH's aspect for growth. it can't repair cells without energy. and glucose is the number one energy source in the body. when HGH levels increase blood sugar levels need to be elevated and available to fuel growth and cellular repair . the same idea goes to the lipolytic (fat burning) properties of HGH , its releasing fatty acids, not as a fat burner , but as a fat liberator to provide energy substrates for your body to use for growth and repair.

I don't know of any research one way or the other. If you happen onto some good information, please post it here. MK-677 is a recent addition to my hormone protocol and I'm still working out the specifics. Appreciate any information you find.

$3.75 per capsule, regardless of whether it’s 10 mg, 12.5 mg or 25 mg. They have a 50 mg for $8 per capsule.

Found out the same pharmacy is selling BPC-157 for $120 per 6mg vial.

At those prices I would buy as much as you are possibly allowed.

I have a source that sells MK677 as an over the counter supplement, in capsule form 12.5mg per , plus it contains other ingredients that help amplify the effects of MK (greater HGH pulse) . its sold as a 'sleep aide' , but really its the MK677 your paying for . its $1.10 per capsule . its as legit as any research chem or peptide place liquid mk677 I've tried (I've used MK for over 5 years).. I've got about 10 clients using it with classic MK results.
