Which did he actually prescribe, test or clomid?

Did he also pull your DHT? If not, there is no way I would touch the dutasteride.

Post up your full bloodwork with ranges for best responses.

a friend suggest not to bother with metformin...
also i find it strange he would prescribe me test and clomid which is normally for pct?

Clomid can be used as an alternative to test for hrt. My personal experience is that it will raise your numbers very well if you are secondary, but it raises shbg and estrogen and thus the numbers don't tell the whole story. In other words, my numbers are pretty good on clomid, but I'm not feeling it.

I am an over responder to finasteride and got all the negative side effects from it at a relatively conservative dose. I tend to avoid 5 alpha reductase blockers like the plague, but would consider microdosing fina again if necessary. But still, I wouldn't go around preemptively using dutasteride or fina either one. DHT is important, too.

Ah brother, maybe you want to take your name and address out.

SHBG, doesn't look low to me, but maybe I read it wrong? I wish my SHBG was mid range!

I would encourage you to get some more opinions here, but your numbers look good to me.

No clue why the doc would recommend upping your SHBG.

I'll take a second look at your numbers later today but IIRC, I didn't see anything that would indicate trt is warranted. But I will post here after work.

Actually, sorry, I thought I had downloaded the pdf but had not. Can you post the following values, with ranges:

    Testosterone , total and Free
    SHBG
    Estrogen(s)
DHT (I don't think you had this one but maybe)
    TSH
    FSH and LH

IIRC, everything looked pretty good, though I don't recall seeing DHT or TSH. A wonky thyroid can lead to lethargy and weight gain and low DHT can be a libido killer (among other things).

Anyhow, post up those values with ranges (you can copy and paste, you don't have to post the full panel) and I will take another harder look.

    First of all...
Your personal info is on those files...
    I would remove them.

    Second of all...
Your natural testosterone is at the top of the range.
    I wouldn't recommend TRT.

    Also...FYI...
You do not jump on TRT and come off 6 months later.
There is a chance your HPTA doesn't fully recover.
    Cylon357 and mrrochez like this.

Man, your numbers look good. Lots of people would be delighted to have these on their blood work.

Cortisol and estradiol are in the 75th percentile but still well within range and kind of makes sense because your total T is up near the 90th percentile. B-12 is over range... are you supplementing it?

Numbers I would like to see still include free testosterone , dht and tsh.

As it stands right now, I would say TRT is NOT warranted, but let's get those three other numbers for the full picture.

i used a a converter to find my free test..
    SHBG
    38

    nmol/L
    Testosterone
    778

    ng/dL

    Explanation and examples
    Free Testosterone
    16.4 ng/dL = 2.11 %
    Bioavailable Testosterone
    385 ng/dL = 49.5 %

basically recons my bio test low, thats why recommending the 50mg every 3 days, in fairness my libido not great...

the doc wanted to try get my bioavailble up from 49.5 to about 70

All the more reason I would want to see DHT and TSH.

Those free / Bioavailable numbers look to be mid range but still healthy. You might try lowering SHBG slightly with boron at 5 to 10 mg per day. There is some evidence Longjack might do this, too. I liked it in my pre HRT days and still use it now and again.

Still though, I personally would not hop on trt with those numbers. Really need to see DHT and TSH to make a good recommendation.
