Bodyfat % ... I am truly disgusted wiht myself ... pass the point of no return?

Two years ago I was in great shape. Hitting the weight 4-5 times a week and eating healthy.

Two years ago I graduated and started working 8 am - 7 pm. Very busy job. I completely let mysef go. I gained 70 lbs in two years.

I want to start back. Do you think I have a chance to get in shape? Or am I pass the point of no return?

you definantly have the chance to get in shape if you allow yourself the chance and remain focused on your goals. get ya diet and training in check and you should be heading in the right direction soon enough. head over to the diet section and begin there....good luck bro

check ou the forums and articles on the keto diet just be careful with it and do it right it drops fat fast, not even explainable its rediculous, dont set goals to high just except that its gonna be hard and take a while and youll be better off than most dont get discouraged because your not ripped in a week if your attitude really is not i wanna but im going to then youll be fine, times will be hard it will hurt and sometimes youll wanna cry because nothing is changing but stick it uot and get to it ill help all i can but the one to talk to on diet is phate maybee hell help you out more, good luck and dont give up too many people are doing that these days

Dude 7 months ago I was 330 pounds. I have dropped to 255 atm and will continue to drop till I am around 200-210. All of it was done via diet, cardio, weight training. No juice at all. This at the age of 37 (just turned! lol).

So yea, you can do it 100%. Its a question of total commitment. Are you fully committed to loosing the weight and changing your lifestyle. The people who fail are the ones who view weight loss as a "diet". It has to be a permanent lifestyle change in your habits. Otherwise your doomed to fail again.

Best of luck and keep us updated on how your doing.

Its never to late, I have seen 50 year old women go from being in horrible shape with multiple risk factors for CVD to being more fit than most women in there mid twenties.

Figure out a plan, and stick to it.

    Good Luck.

My great friend was 210 when he graduated high school. In the last five years he put on 100 pounds. He was bigger than you.

He is all natural. He started training in BJJ.

It took him 1 solid year. 5 days a week. Plus you be able to handle your own in case.

I lost 85lbs. He is 100% correct about the lifestyle change, because there is no such thing as a temp diet.

Main thing(for me) was to change things step by step, if you try to change everything 1000% you have a good chance to get overwhelmed and quit.

Target youre biggest problems(Fast food & Soda) and start there. Once that is easy get more strict. Also set small weight loss goals like 5-10lbs at a time so they are easier to achieve. I weigh myself every morning so if I gain some I get upset and work harder. If I lost a few lbs I get more motivated to work harder. Either way I work harder.

This site has inspired me to begin lifting again. Now going strong 6 days a week with a good diet.

Good luck, you wont ever be happy if you dont do it!

Me at 295 lbs. 1 year ago:

Me at 223.5 lbs. last week:

I'm 41 yrs old and 6 months before I started I was certain it was too late, that I was too fat to get in shape.

It was done with 75% diet, 15% drugs, 10% exercise.

One year and that's it. If I had even a 1/4 way decent exercise program running I"m sure that I would be in much better shape than I am. Still have a long way to go to reach my goals, but I'm not fat anymore and my cholesterol has went from 268 to 136 with no drugs for that at all.

So it's only too late, your only too far gone, until you MAKE THE DECISION that your NOT and then make a plan for change and put it into action.

And I totally agree with JinNTonic, make small, reasonable changes and set small reasonable goals. I was stuck because my thinking was "F*&^, there is no way I can loose 80lbs." But what I could do was to start packing lunches for work instead of eating at burger king every day, what I could do was drop soda for sugar free, calorie free lemonade, etc.... then to water later down the road.

Actually I was dropping 10lbs/month eating almost all protein shortly thereafter for 3 months, forcing myself to shovel 4 big table spoons of fat free cottage cheese (which I DO NOT LIKE) down my gullet every time a commercial came on the TV instead of a bowl of pasta or some pizza or whatever. And I drank tons of water. I didn't eat healthy fats though, that was a mistake.

And I started learning about nutrition and healthy eating on the interent, mostly at this site. Now I have almost total control over my diet and it is not hard for me. I have bad eating binges like 1x every 3 weeks where I will eat a slice of cheese cake or something. There is a drug sold over the counter called alli that you can take with meals that have fat in them and it will adsorb 1/3 the fat out of the meal so you eliminate it later rather than have it go onto your stomach. It is given in prescription at double the dosage of the alli over the counter version, think it's name is orlistat. I try to take a couple of those if I am mindful at the time I'm indulging in a craving for bad food to not do as much damage, but I wouldn't recommend it for you at this stage of the game.

And I'm not wearing my wedding ring in the after pics because it's way to big for me now and falls right off my finger. I have to get it re-sized.

Just stay motivated bro, as hard as it may be with your schedule, just keep giving it 100%, you have the advantage if you were in great shape and hitting the gym regularly in the past. Just be patient, and I'm sure you'll start seeing change.
