    1bigun11, 16 month transformation

Hey be gentle. I am 48 years old, 5'10" tall. Weighed 315 or so in the first picture, January 2009 (me in the red shirt). Down to 240 for other pictures, taken 16 months later, this past weekend. Letting the gray hair show on top, and shaved off the goatee. What do you think?

Good work man! Losing 75 pounds is never trivial.

And is especially difficult when you start to get up there in age (>40yrs.)

Congratulations on the new and improved you!

Congrats on the weight loss!!! What's even more impressive though are the gains - how did you do it? I lost about 75lbs over the course of a year myself, but now look like a skinny jerk off! What's your secret?

Many "experts" will tell you that you have to lose the fat before you can start your cycle. I think if I would have tried that I would have gave up. I think I would have lost a ton of size and strength while I dieted down, would have had a ton of lose skin, and so forth. I also think psychologically it would have been hard on me, like you said, turning into a little skinny jerk off when I was used to being the biggest one in the bar (even if I wasnt in the best shape).

My "secret" is that I ignored the experts and jumped in the deep end right from the start. I stayed big (even got bigger) while gradually losing the fat. I wish that the Myth about having to lose all the fat first would just go away.

That's just my 2 cents. By the way, thanks for the encopuragement!

I guess the next obvious question then is were you into lifting/bodybuilding previously, before you got out of shape? Did you already have a good muscle base and just put on alot of fat on top of it? My guess is yes, because I couldn't imagine somebody putting on that amount of meat over the course of 16 months when starting from scratch.

I hear you about the bodyfat situation; i'm currently on my first cycle and was worried that my bodyfat is too high (16% or so now) - but seeing your pics and hearing your story is encouraging, so thank YOU for the encouragement!

Thanks bro. Yes, I had been working out (no cardio, just free weights) and had a good muscle base underneath the fat. So the muscles were there, primed and ready (and well fed) before I started the roids.

Thanks buddy. For an AI the closest thing I used was Proviron , 50 mg day, and was amazed at how well it worked to harden things up.
