very lucky the tears are symmetrical. if you look at last years universe pics you'll see only a right pec tear. i actually think tearing the left one has made a visual improvement to my symmetry although i would stop short of advising purposefully tearing a muscle. I'll fish out an offseason pic for ya.

ha ha, still here. Now just getting back into training offseason. Had a good rest now it's time to get back to business and grow. Still not 100% into it, holding back a little (and i mean a little) on the weights i'm using, only an idiot refuses to learn from experience.

hi again everyone, totally forgot about this place, my bad sorry everyone. The universe is upon us real soon and i won't be competing this year although i have had a pretty decent offseason, managed to stay less fat than i feared i would and most importantly been enjoying my training all the while. I hope to stick around a bit this time and get to know some of the guys and girls on here.

Shane,
What are your views as a whole on off season diet, cardio and Bodyfat levels?

in what sense Baseline ? Is cv necessary offseason ? depends how fat you plan on getting or not. Bodyfat levels are best kept under control but you have to bear in mind that unless you are earning a living from the sport in the offseason, doing seminars guest appearances etc, then off season is the only time you can have a life as a bodybuilder. Precontest requirements often means very little social life so most guys/girls ease up a bit in their offseason with regards to super strict diets, this is left unchecked often leads to unwanted bodyfat levels. The more experienced competitors however tend to have learned this lesson and not get too far out of shape. In short it's finding a balance between dedication to the sport and having a healthy outlook on life in general.

It's a case of individual preference of course, some people are obsessed with being very lean all the time, but in general i would agree gbrice, i think that level is sufficient for a bodybuilder without being too demanding on his/her lifestyle.
At Stevey: i will confess i'm not really the guy to talk to on this subject. I have somewhat of a distainful relationship with GP's so i stay away from them as much as possible. That said, whenever i have had any health checks over the years for various reasons, i have always been quite surprised at the results. I've never shown high blood pressure even believe it or not.
At BG: i had no plan of competing this year from the outset. I've had quite a few radical changes in my personal life over the last 12 months or so and that took presidence over competing which is still really only a hobby when all's said and done. That said all's good again in fact better than ever so i will compete again no doubt just have to decide which goal to shoot for now after winning the Universe that one is done for me. That said i''ve never been a big advocate of competing every year anyway. Muscle gains take time (as we ALL know) so better to take adequate time off between shows to pack on that new mass and come back much improved than compete year in year out and never really make any real changes. Only a handful of genetic freaks can add noticable mass from one year to the next and unfortunately, i'm not one of them. My way took longer but i still got what i wanted in the end, not many can say that.
