here are some pictures of myself...bigpoppapreston. what do you all think?
Here are some pictures of me at 18% bf. I had my bodyfat test both at my fitness center at work and at LA Fitness gym where u workout at. Both recorded the same readings with the handheld device. I need to drop almost 10 lbs to bring myself down to 10% or below. I do look good to be carrying as much fat. Lol

I mean I am 42 years old and I am carrying quite a bit of fat on my quads and on my glutes, but 18% from two different sources? To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I was bracing for the readings to be 10% but hoping and expecting for somewhere between 8 - 9%bf. If those readings are correct (which I dont put any validity in), I'm going to look great at 10% or lower. I got to find a place to performs bf readings using a water tank.

Yeah those handheld things are a joke, so are the ones that you stand on. I actually used one you stand on, supposed professional one and it was 5% off of what the bod pod reading said. And way off what my scale at home says. I can lose 30 lbs and my scale at home will say the same thing. Looking pretty good btw. And yeah if you lost a bit more body fat you would obviously look even better. But really there isn't any noticeable fat, or unsightly areas by any means.

Thanks ironbeck but yes I am....and have serious problems. Lol. I believe it's the difference of me as some alluded to of being between 12 - 14% vs 10% or lower and seeing more leg separation than I am now. Its still a bitter pill for me to swallow being between 12 and 14% bf.
-
12-14% is my guess here. I carry a shit ton of fat in my quads and I know I'm not at 15%+
If you really wanna know, hit a bod pod.
The handhelds are a joke, don't trust that shit at all.
My calipers said 12% flat and the electro fat-o-meter said 15.5%

Killer physique. Id put you at 9-10% based on upper body. 14 or so for lower. So we will meet in middle at 12!

Thanks guys. I don't do any cardio work, but I'm going to start incorporating HIIT into my routine to get 10% and lower. I I'm leaning out now though. I looked at my legs last night and I'm seeing a noticable difference.

Those resistance meters are pure shit. I tested at 22.8 at my local gym when I was closer to 15. Also while bod pods are pretty good keep in mind IMHO their accuracy depends on what is in your gut. IE if you are full of gas and have not voided there is no way they will provide the same reading as if you test on an empty stomach/digestive tract/colon.
I was first tested on a bod pod at a BB show on an impulse (got to the show and saw the bod pod and decided to try it) meantime I had been riding in a car for 5 hrs and ate a pizza while drinking cokes and was both constipated and gassy and my reading was 6 points higher than two weeks later when I retested under ideal conditions.

I'm getting more definition on my quads. Very noticeable separation. I'm doing something right as I'm holding on to my weight but looking more refined. I'll post some pictures if these legs later if you all like. The hell with bodyfat calibrations and the scale. The taoe measure is where its at and at the end of the day the mirror is my biggest gauge. I haven't started any cycles yet. I wonder how much I will improve. I'm not expecting a whole lot. If I can put on 5 lbs. Of lean muscle in my first cycle...that will be huge. Im hovering between 190 - 195 lbs. I want to utimately be up to 210 lbs. As lean or leaner than I am now. I'm expecting about 3 twelve week cycles may just do it.

Those handheld devices are gimmicks and not meant for any serious measurement. They are toys. ESPECIALLY if your age is entered into them. I had the "trained operator" LOL of one of these devices explain to me that the machine adds bodyfat percentage with age because "older people store more fat internally around their organs." Since my age is similar to yours, my visible abs showed very high bodyfat percentages, too. Try entering the age of 15 on that machine and see what it says.
Do not trust what they tell you.
Compare your pics to the pictures in the sticky thread at the top of this section.
You are about 12%. Maybe lower.

I suffered a horrendous setback. One whole year of no training at all and eating only a couple of very small meals per day resulted in 30 lbs loss. DAMN...I've been back in the hard now for the past 5 months and ive down 10 lbs where I was when I left off here. More than likely still sitting at 12% but im going in the right direction. And im not letting anything stop me from training anymore...not even crazy ex-girlfriends who is on medication...who flat out lied to cops and have me arrested on false charges. Damn
