New guy from Atlanta. (Original name, I know.)

Hey guys, new member here. I've been reading the forums for probably a year or so now, I've used the resources here to plan my diet, to get detailed information on the experiences some of you have had with building, losing weight, and dieting.

I registered now to post some questions, get some feedback as I start my training routine this week. I've been really out of the gym for 3+ years as I traveled for work, but I've settled in Atlanta and it's time for me to get back into it.

Without travel I can control my diet again, and keep my cardio and lifting schedule consistent, so I'm hoping to get some great results, with the help of all the information I've compiled here.

I plan on logging my diet in a detailed excel spreadsheet, log my routines / results, and hopefully share my progress with anyone who needs a starting point laid out on paper / their computer screen.

If anyone knows any really good weight training / diet tracking software out there, feel free to PM or reply with some ideas. I'm a computer programmer, so my plan is to eventually write my own software, but some starting points would be great. I'm currently using Fitness Assistant (free download) to get some ideas, but more suggestions would be great.

So, there's my intro. Now you guys / gals will know some background if I post / ask questions.
