He has a very good point. Mohammad's teachings are just a collection of Jewish and Christian teachings with some pagaism thrown in for the beduoin. The concepts not found or preached previously by Hebrew or Christian leaders are for the most part inconsistent with the teachings.
Regardless, the Pope was not saying that, he was quoting an historical figure. I say to the Muslim scholars...you wanna get pissed about Islam being misrepresented...rant on the terrorists who supposedly do not represent Islam. Rant on Saudi Arabia for the beheadings, and limb excisions. Rant on, but clean your own backyard up first.

Most of religions promote violence in some way or the other. I'm sure the pope is aware of what is in the Old Testament and other religions' books (e.g. ancient Hinduism books) but the world has moved from anti-Semitism to anti-Islam as Clinton stated.

If the Muslims get violent it just proves that the Pope was correct.

if someone calls muslims violent they get pissed and riot, to me its halarious but are most of them really too stupid to see the irony? if i were muslim i would be alot more pissed at the people who react violently because they make the rest of the world look at their religion as a joke.

This is all truly Fcked up.
It is unfortunate that an entire religion is subject to this stereotype. The whole planet perceives Islam as a violent culture, granted this is the result of a perverted minority, yet the moderate majority of Muslims, political leaders and religious leaders outright refuse to do anything about it.
The Pope was only quoting from a historical text, and not pushing his own agenda or opinion.
Look at the reaction when Muslims are equated with violence.
Al-Qaida operatives in Iraq threatened on Monday to "destroy the cross and to slash the throats of those who believe in the cross."
and they would continue fighting their holy war against the rest of the world's non-believers.
The execution-style killing of an elderly nun gunned down Sunday at the Somali hospital
Muslims hurled firebombs at seven churches in the West Bank and Gaza
radical Islamic Defenders' Front said Monday in Jakarta. " such things which can only fuel a holy war."
We will break up the cross, spill the liquor and impose head tax, then the only thing acceptable is a conversion (to Islam) or (killed by) the sword."
No college degree necessary to gather any conclusion here......

Let it happen. I love it every time these people do something like this. The world is going to get fed up with Islamic radicals as a whole in the near future. I find it absolutely ridiculous that these people have this psuedo-amnesty across the world for hate and violence. I mean who blows up a church right after you get mad at calling Islam evil? Can they be mor eidiotic or prove the point of what the pope was syaing any more?
When they behead someone, its our fault for driving them to it. They blow up a Church, but it's the pope's fault for making them angry. Fvck that bullshit. I cannot WAIT for this "American Hiroshima" that bin Laden is promising the world. Bring it on bitches, we won't be so nice a second time.

The point here is pure hypocrisy. Islamic leaders and even so called scholars are routinely insulting, and offending other religions. Islamic political, social, and religious leaders have no problem calling for the "deaths of all infidels and non believers" . Arab and Islamic papers, and media regularly post cartoons depicting characters of Judaism in situations much more inhuman and insulting then anything posted in the Danish paper. Then there is the usual "Jews and Christians are descendant from Pigs" and lets not forget the "Jews and Christians are Atheists"
Its Hypocrisy at an unthinkable level, a double standard which boggles the mind.

did I mention kill by cutting him in lil tiny pieces with a sword and the guy who did this is a hero!
Mohamed is a scam, he took teaching from both judaism and christianity and mixed them together in an arabized version of his religion, then he became
your prophet
your general
your leader
your mayor
your judge
and convinced his fellowers that he is so, and continued spreading his words by conquering by the sword, convert or be killed as an infidels.
Im so sorry but this is the truth
now I must die because I have a cyber fatwa on my head for talking and mentionning my way of thinking about INTAGIBLE THINGS
things we dont know exist but we fight and die for! for nothing!
Now I want apologizies by the muslim world for all the million time they call me an infidel even if im a people from the book
I want apologies for terrorism spread on the planet
I want apologies for alienating my faith and my believe that yours the only real and truthfull so therefore im a dog
I want apologies to be named a pig
I want apologies for you making me faces because I eat ribs
I want apologies for all the time your newspapers called I should be killed because Im white, christian and westerner.
I want apologies for 2 million armenian killed
I want apologies for you attacking us first in Jerusalem
I want apologies for all the time you tried to squeeze your religion in my area, in my life, in my neighborhood with your sectarian and sexist ideas.
I want apologies for all the violence you created since.
I want apologies for that sister killed
for the burnt churches and houses
I want apologies for the 200 people I saw burnt alive because they were christian in Timor!
before Islam there was no Islamic violence
think! Sorry you people cannot think, brainwashed by ideas of a few.
my two cents
I support the Pope and no apologies should be ask, ask yourself the apologies you should give to the world before asking for one.
