The phrase "separation of church and state" does not appear in the Constitution, but rather is derived from a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to a group identifying themselves as the Danbury Baptists. In that letter, quoting the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, he writes: "I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, thus building a wall of separation between Church and State."

I would be as opposed to that as I am to a purely secular society. I do not prescribe too ANY religion, but I do believe in God. I just do not believe that humans are wise enough to be guessing at how to worship him or who he is.....I do use the pronoun Him to refer to God, but I doubt that he is either man or woman, rather something better. I do prescribe to Judeo-Christian philosophy as I believe that these values are good for any society to live by. Values that do not segragate a society, but rather bring it together. Values that define bad behaior and good behavior with common sense.
