Texas passes bill to TEST
My local news station reported today that Texas legislature had proposed a bill that would implement the random testing of ALL High School athletes. The state is going to test 30,000 kids at random and Lt. Govenor David Dewhurst promised that the state would absorb all of the expense.
I am glad that we are taking steps to prevent kids from using steroids . But, is it really fair to single out athletes only? Is 30,000 tests really enough to make a difference?(Number of student that participate in sports 733,026). If caught the student must sit out one year. Sufficent punishment? A professional baseball player only gets a 10 game suspension their 1st offence.
So, tell me what you think of this.

That's bull sh!t IMO. They have no right to test minors. If I was one of those kids I would out right refuse. They could kick me off the team, but the moment they try and suspend me I would sue.

this test had better apply to rec drugs as well. The statistics do not lie about which "drugs" kill young people. The problem is that we have politicians and news media who were picked on in school by the jocks and now they want their revenge................
