I wonder what the Geological Society of America has to say about this . . .
    http://www.geosociety.org/members/

Some of these supposedly "scientific" organizations are nothing more than fronts for business or religious special interest groups. I've never heard of these people before, maybe they're on the up-and-up, maybe they're a bunch of cranks.

    I'll wait and see . . .

Jason865 tried the classic liberal ruse: Discredit the source and don't even acknowledge the article or refute any of its points.

    We're onto you!

What Gore has done from what I hear is to show the absolute worst case scenarios. But since they also happen to be the most unlikely scenarions its a bit dishonest. Unless he states that its low probability in the movie. I havent seen it myself.

It's not a liberal ruse....both sides do the same, and Faux specially aims daily at discrediting everyone...there is nothing liberal about it at all, except for that they liberally do it all day long on both sides...

I would never rely on an American source for my news, only a slave would do that.

Wow, first off I am independent and think if a person is a Republican or a Democrat that person is incapable of thinking for themselves. The whole white hat, black hat thing is as sad as it is childish, life is no movie .

What are you, a Republican or a Democrat ?

He didn't say 'Democrat', he said liberal. Do you even know what you're talking about?

I'd respond to the post before this one, but it's probably pointless, as it makes no sense at all.

Ahh now we are treated to a great example of "everything from outside of America is better" snobbery. I love it, keep giving me fodder.

We all know that all news outside of the U.S. is unbiased and only serves to speak the truth

The health of the planet is not about political loyalties, I hope some day you grow up and learn to see the entire picture. I feel sorry for people like you.

That statement should be 100% accurate, but it isn't. While the health of the planet should supersede any other issues, since it is the end game of our existence, you have people like Gore trying to parlay this information into political gain.

He's trying to ride this wave into the White House, while lining his pockets along the way. THAT is the problem.

Alarmism and apocalyptic rhetoric insults the intelligence of us all.

I hope that some day you do your own research and think for yourself instead of riding the wave of "its true because he says it is".......

It doesn't make a whole lotta sense for you to say this considering your tone of 'absoluteness' in your two previous posts. You know...... the ones saying that all Republicans and Democrats are children and can't think for themselves, and that anyone who relies on a US news source is a slave..... I can't believe I am even responding to such nonsense.

Why don't you go play outside, and let the grown-ups talk?

How do you know what this is? You've only been here for two months. lol

I don't know what you mean by telling me this isn't a liberal rag, but if you haven't figured out that I'm not a liberal, you should definitely refrain from posting.

Gore and his inconvenient truth, was nothing more than a desperate attempt to get back in the public eye, by abusing his position along with scare tactics. All wrapped up and dressed up to look like scientific imperical knowledge.
I saw the movie, I gave it a fair chance, I give it as much realistic credibility as the film "the day after tomorrow"

    I agree...

I watched the movie last night and it seems to be more of an attempt to campaign for a future spot on the presidential ticket....again....I mean WTF was the point of pointing out his loss in 2000???

I finished the movie thinking to myself,...hmmm, I guess I should feel sorry for the guy and next time he runs for president, give him my vote...NOT!

Of course "global warming" should be a concern, but I think Gore is "inconveniently" pushing the truth too far.

    JMHO,

Well if he is fear mongering he still has allot to learn from the Bush administration about that. Bush and the Republicans are pros at it.
