Iran's president has come under fire from a conservative newspaper after he publicly kissed the hand of a woman who used to be his school teacher.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, a conservative by the standards of Iranian politics, was attacked by the Hezbollah newspaper for acting "contrary to Sharia law".

It accused him of "indecency and violating religious values".

It seems that denial of personal freedom, religious fanaticism, and inequality of woman, has bitten the ass of one who waves the stick.....

I never thought Ahmadinejad was all the conservative as least when compared to the clerics. I remember during the beginning of his term, he lifted a ban on woman at soccer stadiums (or something along that lines). He was rebuked swiftly by the hardliners in the press and his decision was overturned.

The promise to lift the ban on Woman was an attempt to make god on an election promise, but that never happened and I think he never meant for it to happen. Which in itself is a large reason for frustration among the young, and the secular sectors which have been under the Supreme leaders thumb.

I have always thought of him as "indecent".....
