RICHMOND, Va. — Barack Obama, caught up in the fervor of a campaign speech Tuesday, drastically overstated the Kansas tornadoes death toll, saying 10,000 had died.

The death toll was 12.

No, he can make any comment he wants. I was saying that there hasn't been any democrat or anyone else on this forum or elsewhere who stated "look at Fox News...". I comment on Republican comments after they have been made. I don't assume what anyone would say, I comment on what has already been said.

Just like I don't agree that a typical republican response to this type story (when the president or other republicans are involved) is to blame the mainstream media for a 'witchhunt'. I think that the media is very fickle (both right and left) and regardless of who is in office they will harp on any misstep taken by any politician. We saw that during the Clinton's presidency and during Reagans presidency as well.

I'm not denying that most media outlets are left leaning these days, but that is because, IMO, this adminstration has had major missteps which increases the fodder for these reports. But I don't believe that media outlets don't point out democratic flubs like you republicans tend to vehemently believe. Again, we should reserve judgement for the next administration when we have a democratically controlled congress and a democratic president. I guarantee we will begin to see the media point out there transgressions as well.
