lol, I think your the one person that still reads time..and nobody watches cnn...at least according to the ratings.
60% of the country consider themselves conservative. If the Reps could actually put up a viable candidate they would win. The problem is that the media would still demonize him or her...instead bending over theyve done for hussein.

While I'm not disputing your claim. Are we talking social conservatives or fiscal conservatives? Where's your source on that. And your claim about CNN, that's just false. What time slot are your referring to? I just ask for some proof on these claims.
And C'mon, stop with the Hussein comments. You reps tried it during the campaign and it didn't work, let it go already!!!

Yea really....The Hussein crap is pointless and is really just an ad hominem attack. It's much easier to pick apart Obama's anti-constitution stance, anti 2nd amendment leanings, anti-capitalism, etc, etc. And you still get to sound credible at the end of the argument since you didn't attack his middle name which has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that he is a socialist sympathiser.
I'm sure Obama is a good intentioned person, and truely believes the policies he supports will actually help and are good for the country. He just happens to be completely wrong, thats all.
Anyway, the Republican party would be in good shape if they would abandon the social conservative bible thumpers. We really dont need them to be honest. If our party returned to the ideas of smaller government, sound money, civil liberties, etc. we would be able to be the party of inclusion not exclusion. They must not realise how many people are alienated from Republican candidates as soon as they start bible thumping, trying to protect the 'sanctity' of marriage, legislate morality via drug laws, etc, etc. It is much easier to include those people in our party if we leave the issues of gay marriage, drug laws, and abortion up to the States, we would not even have to engage in the debate and avoid the issues all together. Federal mandates on the States to that degree are unconstitutional. Marriage is an institution of the Church, and should not have any state involvement. Drug laws is simply a way to legislate morality, Portugal is a great model for what decriminalization can do. Abortion is a state issue since it tacitly deals with murder, and the Federal government has no laws against murder, its a state issue once agian.
Liberty is popular right now, and I believe the Republican party would be wise to realise this and return to its roots, people like Barry Goldwater, who were true principled Republicans. The Neo-Cons have destroyed the party, and alienated independents and principled Republicans who actually believe in the party.

TIME magazine sucks. That article was absolute ignorance. It can't distinguish between conservative ideas vs neoconservative ideas. I wouldn't even know where to begin refuting it. Nor does it have any real grasp of historical context. One of the dumbest quotes, "The party's new, Hooverish focus on austerity on the brink of another depression."

Again, there is no differentiation between fiscal conservative and social conservative. Also those ratings you posted hardly state that no one watches CNN. It just states that more people watch FNC so you are a bit off in your reasoning. Plus Liberal has a much bigger negative connotation to it than conservative, thus people don't identify with being "liberal". But if conservatism was the way of most, we then do only 20% of people identify themselves as republicans (ie the conservative party)?
And when will you realize that no of this shit pisses me off? I really don't take it that serious. People on this forum are constantly trying to get under my skin and I take it with a grain of salt. I just think the insults bestowed on Obama are childish.Last edited by BgMc31; 05-08-2009 at 01:32 PM.

Right, I didnt say fiscal or social. 60% consider themselves conservative..like I said. People dont come out and say Republican because its been demonized the way liberal has.
Sorry, when you have the prime time FNC crew beating CNN, PMSNBC, and CNBC combined..I would say their ratings are going in the toilet.
Hussein should have been elected over in Russia..theyre used to his way of governing.

Fox is just as bad as all of the other networks. Partisan hackery.
Btw, it took me a minute to realise what PMSNBC was. That's hilarious.

Stay away from liberalism its on its way out. As far as a two party system it is needed so you can freely post your opions like you do on this board. The loopy idiologs are being expossed, sad the dems have been caught up in the mess. But they to are waking up!
