just wanted to see some opinions here. who thinks the euro will crash then cease to exist in the next couple years? i think with greece about bankrupt and now spain getting there as well and having a 20% unemployment rate the euro has seen its best days. i really hope it dosnt happen but its definatly looking that way

    No way.

The Euro could easily replace the American dollar. I got this from wikipedia:

The euro is the second largest reserve currency and the second most traded currency in the world after the U.S. dollar.[4] As of October 2009[update], with more than €790 billion in circulation, the euro is the currency with the highest combined value of banknotes and coins in circulation in the world, having surpassed the U.S. dollar.[note 15] Based on IMF estimates of 2008 GDP and purchasing power parity among the various currencies, the Eurozone is the second largest economy in the world.

I'm not sure how anyone can answer this question in our times... considering the instability of every currency and weak economy, you can expect just about anything. I have to say though, if you want to keep your savings, buy physical gold, not certificates, actual bullion and store it... there are some really good companies out there with storage facilities and online trading platform with years and years of experience. Gold is by far the best currency. And, you can trade it in real-time.
