I wouldnt think too much into it to be honest. If their really was a potential radioactive catastrophe, moves would have been made by now on the west coast to evacuate. Kind of hard to manipulate the media on a subject like this. And in my opinion, Fox News would've definitly been the media source to break this story wide open if the threat is in fact "their".

It is kind of strange that we (in the US) keep finding out about meteors as they are passing through the atmosphere or passing by where other countries reported it days or weeks in advance. Yeah the local news is not exactly forthcoming with information that is relevant.
