I wouldnt think too much into it to be honest. If their really was a potential radioactive catastrophe, moves would have been made by now on the west coast to evacuate. Kind of hard to manipulate the media on a subject like this. And in my opinion, Fox News would've definitly been the media source to break this story wide open if the threat is in fact "their".

I don't think the major new media will look the other way if there are evidence of serious contamination, I believe they would jump on this like flies on shit. just the fact that there isn't much said by the media means there isn't enough evidence to suggest a serious threat. Corporations have monoploized and consolidated news media. It's infotainment with a corporate point of view and it's for profit. In other words, news serves private (vs. public) interest. GE made the defective Mark 1 and they sold it to Tokyo Electric in an earthquake prone region. The containments for the reactors were too small and they failed due to the earthquake alone. GE owns NBC/MSNBC and they are a huge defense contractor and major corporate underwriter for the other five media ownerships. They own the government and they own you! That's corporatism. It is kind of strange that we (in the US) keep finding out about meteors as they are passing through the atmosphere or passing by where other countries reported it days or weeks in advance. Yeah the local news is not exactly forthcoming with information that is relevant.
