    I hope they nail Martha Stewart

    I hope that woman gets what she deserves....everyone keeps saying, why would she have the need to dump those shares, she has all this money, that its a drop in the bucket....well people, thats b/c even tho you are rich, it doesnt mean that your not greedy!....The sad thing is, that she will never get whats comming to her...since she is a celebrity, jail time isnt even an option---but any one of us "regular" people who pull a stunt like that, we get the book thrown at us.....I can just hope that justice prevails here...even though I dont think she has learned her lesson.

    What does it really matter if she has money or not? Most people would have done the same thing if they were her. I know if my broker gave me a tip off that I was going to lose a lot of money if I didn't make a move right away...than you bet your money I'm going to take my brokers advice and sell.

    What does it really matter if she has money or not? Most people would have done the same thing if they were her.     The fact that she has money is gonna keep her ass outa prison....thats my beef...you (since you gave yourself as an example) would be in jail so fast your head would spin, if you dumped stock like that, and was caught. Money or not, those "tip offs" are called insider trading, and they are illegal.

    I have always dispised her. It has nothing to do with her insider trading...hell...that made me dispise her less. I just can't stand her.

    Of course, I hate almost all famous people...so I don't descriminate.
    What is it about being in the public spotlight that makes the dumbest of people feel like they have the need or the authority to tell us how we should think and feel? Why should they feel obliged to intervene in our lives?

    I hate them all. Well, a couple are okay.

    I think your wrong on the jail time. She is going to serve at least 1 year. It will probably be a country club prison, but prison nontheless.

    As much as I hate martha she only sold a SMALL fraction of her holdings. She saved about 47K dollars. I just dont see her risking jail over that kind of money.

    actually, she sold all of her holdings of imclone, which totaled around 250k, which is chump change to her nonetheless...she really lost a lot of money on Fri when the verdict was released...her company's stock dropped before close...they estimate she lost 135 million on Fri.

    Not true. Look at Robert Downey Jr. They can't keep him out jail!LOL.And he's a celebrety. Er..was..rather,hehehe.
    But I would put Martha Stuart and has been actors in the same category anyway, lol.

    Robert Downey Jr. is a repeat offender, he got off plenty of times before they started throwing the book at him.
