High reps or low
My wife is trying to lose body fat, she has her diet in check and exercises 5 days a week. The only time she cheats is "that time of the month" Should she be doing high reps (12-16) lighter weights or low reps (4-6) higher weight?

DIET DIET DIET.... Is going to be the decieding factor in he loosing fat. Aswell as cardio.
I say this because I have seen your thread that said it was mostly in check. Which means her diet is lacking.
Also she need to get on the forum and get over there herself.

Good advise CHAP. As far as reps go, my wife's trainer has her mostly setup on doing higher reps (for the most part), 16-to-24 depending on muscle group and exercise. My wife (bengalwoman) is awaiting final approval to get on the female site, which will do her a world of good to interact with the other ladies on diet, lifting, etc., since our goals are very different. Give it some consideration for your wife too.

This subject is as old as lifting weights.
Chap is correct. she can loose fat and/or weight by dieting alone. but is will go faster with exercise.
but to answer the question it has been studied by many many universities and the over whelming conclusion is higher reps burn more calories there for higher reps helps loose fat.
