Enlarged Prostate will Dutasteride help??
Hey guys,
Been having issue with frequent urination and hard to get a stream after this last cycle so I finally went to see a Urologist and he said my prostate was enlarged.
Yes I had the finger exam done (Digital Rectal Exam).
The problem is this doctor was really a prick, I have all the symptoms of BPH but he tells me that's not my problem. Also they did a CT scan for kidney stones to rule that out.
However I asked him several times exactly how enlarged my prostate what the shape of it was (smooth, lumpy, etc) and this guy wouldn't give me a straight answer.
Really bad doctor and I'm going to seek a second opinion from a better Urologist, how in the meantime I was thinking of ordering some Liquid Dusta and start running that
to help shrink my prostate.
I stopped my cycle on June 23rd and I was running Test/Tren /Mast and I'm sure that's what is causing my issue, I've never had Prostate problems in the past.
I was wondering because I've read conflicting reports that the Prostate will go back to normal or at least shrink somewhat after an ASS cycle or is it permanent?
What do you guys think? Any help or advice would be appreciated.
I'm 46 years old
6'6''
225
14% BF
Otherwise healthy without any issues.
Thanks in advance, hope to get a little advice in the over 40 forum. I posted another thread in the general questions and seems like no one really cared to respond.Last edited by DJMikeT; 08-15-2015 at 09:33 AM.

Duta will help of the BPH is caused by DHT.
It can also be from E2. Did you use AI?
Best way would be to do blood work.

Yes, I used AI the whole cycle and for PCT as well. I have an appointment with my primary physician in a couple of weeks for my yearly physical and was going to ask him to run a full panel of blood work on me. So I should know more then. I'm pretty sure it was the Masteron combined with the Tren that caused this. This is the first I've tried a cycle like that and the first time I've have issues. In the meantime I'm getting some Duta until I can get the blood work from my doctor.

Start using cialis also great for the prostate. I had problem with one cycle, my psa went to 4.6. The dr prescribed antibiotics and it came down. Not sure if it was same problem your having though. Good luck.

Thanks for the input, I'm already using Cialis daily, I'm going to have to find a better Urologist the one I went just simply sucked. Hopefully this gets better.

Make sure he tests for relevant hormones (as many physicians dont dont have profound knowledge about hormones) testosterone , free testosterone, LH, FSH, sensitive E2, prolactin, DHT, etc

X2 on Cialis. Good old Saw Palmetto works pretty good, too. Got my PSA down so low it barely registers.

Hey guys,
I'm sorry I never followed up on what happened when I initially made this post about 2 years ago but I have been on the forum a lot lately doing research and I remembered I made this post so I thought I should come back to it and follow up on what happened.
So basically I went to another Urologist (supposedly one of the top ones in the major city I live close to) and he did another rectal exam of my prostate and said it was small which totally contradicted the previous urologist. Firstly the Doc put me on FlowMax and said to come back in a couple of weeks. Then the Doc says he needs to do a scope to see if I have a stricture (blockage) or any other bladder problems. Now I would not wish this procedure on my worst enemy. Oh holy mother of god I would not want anyone to have to experience what I did, anyway he scopes and says I have some irritation in my bladder but other than that it looked good. They also had me urinate into a little machine that measured flow rate and stream pressure and did an ultrasound on my bladder and informed me that I wasn't completely emptying.
Then the Doc put me on a second medication (cannot remember the name of it but started with a M) which is supposed to part of this study going on for men my age with my symptoms.
So while all this is going on we go on vacation to Vegas for my wife's birthday. While in Vegas I started having all kinds of crazy side effects. Like joint pains, teeth hurting, dizziness, blurred vision just to name a few. So I told my wife that at work when we trouble shoot equipment it was usually the last thing that was changed that caused the problem. So I told her the only thing in my life style that changed was the medication that I was taking. Now at this point I had been off the previous cycle for about 2 months so I really thought that it must be one of my meds messing me up.
At the time I was on Xanax for anxiety an also Ambien for sleep issues. What I was doing was kinda of alternating the two since Xanax makes me sleep really good but I don't like taking it everyday because it becomes addicting and the hang overs the next day can be brutal.
So while still in Vegas I stopped taking everything, and in about 4 days all my urgency went away and I was urinating almost normally again. So I was thinking well damn it must have been one the meds the doctor put me on. So about a week goes by and everything is looking good but then family came into town to stay with us and it was a long and stressful day so I took an Ambien for sleep that night, the next night I took a Xanax, and the 3rd night Ambien once again.
On the 4th morning all my symptoms had return, I had urgency like crazy and couldn't completely empty my bladder again. So once again I quit taking everything and in 2-3 days everything was normal again. So now I know it had to be either the Xanax or Ambien causing my issue.
I did some research and Xanax can cause mild urinary retention however what I found out about Ambien just blew my mind!!!!! So I had been on both medications for at least 3 years on and off. So when I research Ambien side effects there was a scale that went by age and duration of time on the medication.
I feel into a category of men that had a 80% chance of SEVERE urinary retention which causes symptoms just like an enlarged prostate or BPH.
What really made me madder than hell though is I had a follow up appointment scheduled with the urologist so I went ahead and kept the appointment so I could tell the doctor that everything was going well. So when the nurse comes into the exam room she instructs me to disrobe and I said "For What?"
The nurse replies so that we can put these catheters in me and start up some study.
I replied back "That's not going to happen because I'm doing fine now"! So I tell the nurse to put me back on the flow machine and for her to do another ultrasound which she did and everything came out normal!! So she says she will go get the doctor. Now the next part is why I really came back to this post and hope that this read helps others in the future.
The doctor comes in and I told him the whole story mentioned above about the side effects of the meds and how once I got off them everything returned to normal. Once I told him this, he asked me rudely and in an agitated manner about why I would quit taking the meds he had prescribed and I replied because my symptoms were not improving and I was feeling like shit. So he looks at the results from the flow rate machine and the ultrasound and nods at me and says "yeah looks you are right and this wouldn't be the first time that meds caused issues like this".
The thing is he knew I was taking both Xanax and Ambien and he failed to know that both of these can causing Urinary Retention???? I was like WTF???
So after leaving the office I research the 2nd drug that he prescribed to me because even with my insurance that medicine was still $90 a bottle. I found out that the insurance was paying over $1000 a bottle for that stuff. So it's another one of those "Big Pharma" gigs for the doctor to push meds on a patient and get huge kick backs!!!
Shortly after all this happened I went to my regular doctor and got my yearly physical and blood panel and everything was great. My PSA was 0.3 and has been 0.3 this year as well.
So word of caution, don't trust whatever a doctor tells you!! I think the ultimate goal is for them to get people hooked on as many meds as possible by the Big Pharma companies.
I ended up going through a big ordeal only to figure out the problem on my own by logical thinking and some trial and error.
I sincerely hope this information may help others in the future with similar circumstances.
