40 y/o update, day 335
Update:
I started with Deca and Test Cyp. at 200-300mg/week and stayed on for 155 days. I increased my dosage per week to max out at 1000mg/test and 600mg/deca, with a few weeks of Winstrol at 400mg/week. I am 5' 11.5", 40 years old, and started at 218 pounds and 29% bodyfat. At the end of 155 days I was 225 and 15% bf. I used HCG and clomid for three weeks, having a difficult time getting my sex drive back...but after week 5 everything was ok. I lost about 5-7 pounds of water weight, stablizing at 218 and 14% bf. I went back on after week 7 at the same dosage level, 500mg test, 400mg Deca, for 8 weeks. Came off for eight weeks, and have been back on now. Currently I am at 207 and 9% bf, with noticable strength gains. I bascially added 25 pounds of lean tissue and lost 30 pounds of fat, all off an aging body that has had four knee surgeries, a torn rotator cuff, and two broken ankles (football). Joint pain as been reduced by 70% (Deca) and my sex drive is that of an 18 year old. I of course have had boughts of rage when peaking, but have managed that with a few scotchs and some valium. I've been able to focus at work (made $250k last year) and lead a normal life. Strength has gone from a struggle to get 185 on the bench for 6-8 reps to easily repping with 275x8, 295x6, 315 x 4, 225x12. Incline becnh went from 135x8 to 245x8. Dumbell curls with 50x8 to 80x10. Deadlift from 185x5 to 365x5. This is on training three times a week...obviously not pro standrads but all I can manage with a 70 hour work week. Muscle hardness is impressive, with good vascularity. These numbers are workout numbers, as I never maxed out for fear of injury. I am certain max numbers would be 120%-130% of these...but there is no need for me to break a body that has had enough injury for a lifetime.
Bottom line, managed growth through long term cycles has been a success.
Downside, several cases of itchy, sore nipples (aromasin fixed that) and the pain of getting the testicluar axis back after coming off. Sex drive can cause problems in the relationship unless you are with a nympho....2-3 times a day, easy. Add a little viagra and you are a weekend god.
You can read my last post for greater details...I used an MD for all sources and did blood work each 60 days. By the way, cholestrol was down a total of 30 points! All liver function tests were fine...never went high (H).
So if you are thinking about a cycle, or replacement therapy (HRT), I recommend it...it worked well for me and I didn't put a secnd job worth of effort into it. I'm sure with the right training I could be competitive in >40 age groups, but I haven't the desire.
If I can answer any questions, please write.

Truly impressive progress. I can't match that although I did go, through combination of exercise and HRT, from 182lbs and 12% BF to 215lbs and 9% BF. Max bench was 300 lbs but I doubt I could do that today. I stick to around 250mg test ew, 250mg nandralone (good for joints) ew, and 3 iU of HgH per day. On winny, I'm concerned about the liver effects.
Are you sure that going up to the levels you did is without risk? I think at our age we've learned by now that we have to live with our decisions (unlike the 18 year olds on the main board).
I'd be happy to go up to 1000mg of test but the conventional wisdom seems to be negative on that.

Thanks for posting your info, and congratulations those are great results!
It's odd how stuff like test affects people differently though. I'm 51 and have done a couple cycles in the last year, just coming off ten weeks of prop & Var.
My experience is that I'm lethargic and mentally out of it while I'm on gear, and my sexdrive is more often down than up while on, which surprises me. But I've read some posts by dudes who lose it altogether on test -and still cycle!
I do train pretty hard, since I have no joint problems and I enjoy working out -5 days/week always under an hour. I wonder if maybe I'm overdoing it?

I'm turning 40 soon, I can't believe it. so at our age I would say it is ok for us to run longer cycles like min. 20 wk's ?

Great job........
43 here......
longer is great if you are stopped having babies.... but my young wife has got to have one................ so you know what that means..
so shorter cycles for me.. and keep the boys where they belong......... making swimmers........
good luck

Nice to see some older folks in here aswell, I am 34...thinking on a first cycle. The worries that come with being older is nothing like it was when i was 20, perhaps it is just more knowledge and maturity, that prevents us from jumping into things such as this,, Great work and look forward to seeing more from others...

To whackedmytoe
I am really impressed with your results. Did you get bloated at all from the cycle ?
I did Test Cyp as a 22 year old (I am now 41) and it really bloated me.
My goals are similar to what you are acheiving. I have been using either anavar , primobolan depot, or winstrol . Not together, but at different times. I like the results in that I am getting more cut, but the progress is slow. My dosage is pretty low, however. I have been thinking about using test.
Thanks for the info.
