To wear a belt or not to wear a belt..that is the question!!!
I believe wearing a belt for oyur heavy movements is a good precaution.
Does anyone here feel it weakens your back muscles, say for deadlifitng?
I don't feel that it does.

yes wearing a belt is important to me, no matter how heavy i get in deadlifting, even with great form, i will still always wear a belt.better to be safe than sorry. in this case, i would rather wear a belt then have a hernia

me i only wear a belt when i go heavy. when i am warming up i like to go 'raw' to build up my muscles and also so i do not become dependent on gear.

I won't do deadlifts without a belt anymore. When I did them lighter, it was ok, but not anymore.

I agree with u guys who say that wearing a belt for heavy weights is important on the DEADLIFT. I dont agree with the people who wear belts when doing other lifts such squatting or cleaning. The belt serves no purpose in lifts such as that unless you have bad form. Even then if you have bad form on any lift, the entire lift serves no purpose.
