Banana Bread Pancakes (carbs/protein)
Preface
I got this recipe from this thread:
http://67.18.108.244/showthread.php?t=132448
It is one of my favorite recipes now. I could never eat oats before this. I'm posting my modified version of the recipe with nutritional info. Thanks, jmillerdls, for an awesome recipe.
Nutritional Info (one serving)
384 calories
27.7g protein
3.9g fat
58.4g carbs
Ingredients (two servings)
2 ripe bananas
1 cup instant oatmeal (dry)
1 scoup whey (25g protein)
9 tbl. sp. egg whites
1 cap coconut or vanilla extract
Recipe
Mix all ingredients with hand blender until smooth (mix, do not puree or beat to a froth!). Cook them up like pancakes.
Nutritional Analysis
There is a lot of sugar in the bananas. Infact, two bananas has more carbs than 1 cup of dry oats! If this bothers you, only use one banana and sweeten the mixture with Splenda.Last edited by clockworks; 12-13-2004 at 02:22 PM.

Im still eating these at least once a day since im still bulking. Im going to have to figure out how to make them taste good without the banana once i start cutting..but im enjoying them while i can.

These pancakes are freaking awesome. I used your ingredients but got different nutritional totals. I got:
412 Calories
45g Protein
50g Carbs
2g Fat
I used 1 quaker instant oatmeal orig. flavor packet, 1 banana, 9 tbl. sp. egg beaters egg whites, 1 scoop whey protein, and a tbl. sp. of splenda. They didnt come out as pancakes. Maybe its cause I suck at cooking. They came out like a blob but tastes like banana bread. So freaking good. Can I have this breakfest while cutting? Thanks for the recipe. Finally a breakfest I enjoy!Last edited by juicerm; 03-09-2005 at 11:59 AM.

Well, diet is a very sensitive and relative topic. Its different for everyone. Some people can cut by eating less carbs, some by eating less fat, some by eating less of both, or some by eating less period.
What you should do is hit the diet forum, work out some caloric totals for yourself, then see where this recipe fits into that.

i just searched Shoprite shop online site and I found McCormick / Schilling
Imitation Banana Extract. Would this be better to use than a real banana? Is one banana in the morning that bad?
