I have been all over the world & almost every corner of the US - The US is still the land of the free - but, a lot of things have changed. Some for better, some - not so much

There are many different beliefs.

Won't start that discussion today, but have several Orthodox and Reformed Jewish friends that share my same beliefs....that all the races were created on the sixth day in Genesis 1, God rested, and the Adam of Genesis 2 was created on the 8th day. Many, many, lively discussions.

As far as pride in myself because of skin color, not me. I take pride in trying to treat other people respectfully/ helping others, taking care of my wife, and in doing my best to do a good job.

Ehhh, I’ve always found these things to be patently stupid, no matter what marker is used. Being proud of things you have no control over is one of the weirdest things to ever develop in the human ego.
Being proud of accomplishment? I get it.
Being proud of achievement? I get it.
Being proud of work ethic? Yeap.
Being proud of having been born in a specific country to specific parents? The fuck? It’s like being proud of winning once at a casino. It’s just goofy and makes precisely no sense to me.

As far as pride in myself because of skin color, not me. I take pride in trying to treat other people respectfully/ helping others, taking care of my wife, and in doing my best to do a good job.

These two posts sums it up for me. I always found the fixation on skin color bizarre. Having just left the country where whiteness is revered (India) and treatments to be white is very common I hope one day this is no longer an issue whatsoever.

This is pretty much the crux of my argument. I want to see equality of opportunity, not some halfassed guarantee of equality of outcome.
The first can be accomplished without having to limit or hamstring anyone. The second, not so much.

The antelope has a right to live IF it can evade the wolf pack, and the wolf pack has a right to eat IF it can run down the antelope.

It's no different among men DD. Any rights granted by elite ro the citizens are given as a concession required by either the necessity of getting cooperation, or the threat of force if said rights are not conceded.

Rights are not granted, nor bestowed by any divine being other than what nature has bestowed, or limited, by capabilities.

The truth is that it's never been a question of rights, but one of capabilites. A people have the right to anything they are capable of taking, and keeping.
