very true, it does matter where they land however, i think there is a better chance that meriweather will have a more prominent career in the nfl. but only time will tell.

Hey whats up.. How far do you see the Bears goin? Who do you think they'll draft?
-
04-05-2007, 10:31 PM #86
id say the bears are going to draft and OLB probably jon beason out of miami, and i honestly dont see them going that far this year they will make the playoffs but lose in the first round

That said, who they draft will largely depend on where they end up selecting. If they stay @ 1.31, I can see them taking a OL like Ben Grubbs.
However, I think a Briggs deal is imminent. If they move up, there are a ton of different possibilities.
How far they will go is tough to say... I dont think they will contend again though. Too many ??.

good call on Grubbs, that is my pick for the bears. but then again if briggs for sure gets traded then linebacker might very well be their pick. considering if briggs leave they only have one linebacker worthy of starting on the whole team. cause Hillenmyer SUXX

i think briggs is gonna get his wish

and pplleg i am going to go against the general consensus. even though the nfc sucks right now, if Briggs dosent play and grossman is the starting quarterback i say the bears WILL NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS!! if briggs plays they will make them, and only because their D and devin hester, their O sucks. but their is a ton of factors working against the bears..... tommie harris is a beast but comming off a season ending injury. they need help at the safety position a lot. not to mention they lost thomas jones! Grossman is the most pathetic excuse for a quarterback that i have seen......hope that is enough reasons....

damn right they lost thomas jones im happy about that one and im happy about the team he went to, but i definatly agree if briggs is there playoffs, but they wont go past the first round if he isnt there no playoffs at all

ill tell you what, i know their secondary is lacking but what, i think that IF he slipped adam carriker would be a beast of a DE in your 3-4(the only true 3-4 DE in the draft worthy of starting in my opinion)
also would you rather have ross or houston from arkansas?
-
04-05-2007, 11:14 PM #95
i think san fran will take carriker, he would be my first choice and id def take houston over ross but i think cincinatti is gonna take houston so i think the jets will settle for ross

Hey, thanks for your thoughts. But I am a die hard Bears fan and yes Grossman needs to improve. But how many quarterbacks can say they took their team in their first full year to the superbowl. The offense went from the worst in 2005 to about #14 last year. Yes Grossman had terrible games. But he also led the league in games over a 100 quarterback rating. That means he had some great games as well. He can only get better after a full year of experience.

possibly alan branch if he were to slip.
I am pretty sure that the 49ers play a 3-4 or they are switching to one this year
They signed Banta-Caine (hope they dont expect him to move inside!), but you are correct on their DE need. I agree that Carriker would be a nice pick for them. Better than Branch even.
I dont think Anderson will get past Washington.

i dont know man i think okeye could be picked up by washington. they have a huge need for a defensive tackle and he is the top rated one in the draft and is only 19 which means he is only going to get bigger, faster, and stronger

and when it comes to best player available, okeye is a higher rated player than anderson on many scouts draft boards

call me crazy but i think quinn will be a better nfl qb than russell. i hope meachem is still available when dallas picks because they need a big time receiver because of lack of youth at the position or a free safety who can cover to put back there with williams. obviously calvin johnson will be gone and i really think robert meachem is the 2nd best reciever in the draft. where theses players go will be determined by teams needs but calvin johnson and adrian peterson are without question the best players in this draft. i'm ready for day1 because it will be interesting.

i definatly think oakland is going with russell and if not russell definatly a qb, if they can draft a qb with a cannon randy moss will be that dominate player that he was back in minnesota when culpepper was healthy

some of my later picks were very hard to decide (esp Dallas)..however al davis spoke with a oak newspaper and said that he still is intrested in what walter can bring to the table and his exact quote was "on a scale of one to ten calvin johnson is an eleven"...that is my reasoning for the pick... and jayrod i am with you, i can't wait for this draft

You think Scott Chandler from the Hawkeyes will go pro at TE in the 2nd or 3rd round? Got some good size, so I think he's draftable. Like 6'7" 260 I think? I just hope someone from the hawks goes pro and I know Drew Tate wont! Sucks to go from Bob Sanders, Chad Greenway, Abdule Hodge, Matt Roth, and those guys to a year with probably 1 NFL prospect

scott chandler will def go to the NFL. He def got the size at 6'7" and is a great pass catcher. however even with that size he is pretty weak (bench is listed at 310 pounds) and not a good blocker. also he lacks the speed to strech the feild running the 40 in 4.77. My guess is the third round is the earliest he will go.

Amobi okoye is the next warren sapp!!(just my prediction) A lot of people think of okoye as a boom or bust type player. I am almost positive that he will be a star in this league for 12+ years. I would be very happy in the falcons grabbed him at 8. I would prefer landry, if he is gone then brown or okoye will be the selection
