    protien shake before bed

anyone ever drink a protien shake an hour or so before bed when on a bulk cycle? I am currently on a bulk diet and using muscle juice for my protien shakes 1020 cals per serving. I thought that after eating all day and gettin in a good workout it could'nt hurt to throw in a few more cals and another 55 to 70 grams of protien before a good 6 to 8 hours of sleep. I usually do a 20 min ab routine before bed

Ditto, have done so for years and it has always worked well for me. There are a lot of night time proteins so I would do some research and see which one best fits your nutritional needs.

I would make a recommendation though and tell you to not ingest a shake with 55-70 grams prior to bed time. In some individuals, a large dose of protein prior to bed can cause restlessness. I have always stuck by 25-30 grams of protein to help fight off muscle catabolism and keep the metabolism running at an optimal rate.

If that's you in your avatar pic...food, food, food...By looking at your pic I would have never put you at 202 pounds. Is that correct??

I always mix a scoop of whey with 8-10oz of milk about 30 min before I go to bed. But 1020 cals before bedtime would make me fat as hell even if I was bulking.

as any one tried that liquid whey protein in the plastic test tubes? it has 42 grams of protein and no sugar and no fat. 2 gulps and its gone. it's called "new whey". all the flavors are awsome, quick and easy protein.
