Good question but there are a lot of variables to consider. Are we talking about whey protein by itself, whey/carb, or whey/fat? Taking whey with carbs or fat will slow down absorption and digestion. Another factor is when the whey will be consumed...for example pwo the body is much like a sponge and will absorb whey quicker. I don't have an answer to your question just wanted to point out this is a question that has many determining factors.

in general, it's usable by the body in about 30 mins. peaks at about 3 to 4 hours and is basically done. this is everything I've read.
just approximations. as M302 said, you can be influenced by many things, and you can taylor the whey with different foods to make
it fit your schedule (for your personal protein needs).

No its not that quick mate.

Amino acids peak at about the 60min mark (leucine) and insulin , all the whey is then fully utilised after about 2-3 hours as shown in this study.

This is why its advised we also take fats, fibre to slow its absorbtion.

so now im confused theres 4 different times u guys have said, 30mins, 40-50mins, 2-3hours, 3-4hours......

i know it depends on what u take it with and what time of the day... so lets just say the only times i take it, in the morning straight away on empty stomach whey protein with just water, how long would that take??

and of course after my workout with simple carbs / sugars - dextrose / waixy maze / creotine and casein and whey protein all in 1.

Oats have a descent amount of fiber, 4g per 1/2 cup, so this will help slow down digestion, but oats are also a low GI carb so that will help to slow down digestion of the whey as well.

if you can find the full version of this study and can accurately interpret it i suspect it will answer your exact question not only re: whey but casein and amino acids as well: http://ajpendo.physiology.org/content/280/2/E340.short
Your welcome and again knock yourself out. Its your turn to research rather than get exasperated no one is giving you your exact desired answer.
