    Methyl Compounds In PH

From reading on forums and researching prohormones I learned that methylated compounds are what cause oral steroids to be hepatoxic but I have not found why. I looked into different methyl compounds in college chem book but it didn't really discuss health hazards of ingesting the stuff. Just want to know what causes oral steroids to be hard on the liver?

When talking about "methylated" orals, we mean those with a 17-alpha alkylated group.
This modification makes the molecule resistant to hepatic breakdown and stresses the liver while passing through it.
You can add a methyl group to just about any position and change a compound's characteristics.
