creatine, beta alanine, and protein powder along with a pre-workout is the only thing i'd spend my money on that's legal.

I'm not so sure bcaas do a damn thing if you're getting the amount of protein your body needs

Good call. I still believe in BCAAs but ya, I suppose if your diet and protein intake is on point, the benefit would be marginal at best.

There are only about 10-12 solid supplements that I would use
or feel comfortable to suggest. Be leary of those Muscle magazine
    ads.

What are your opinions on some of the other individual amino acids? Such as L-carnitine for converting more fat to energy.

^^^^ I dont have any experience with L-carnitine and dont know if it would be beneficial. What I do know is that any benefit would be insignificant if beneficial at all. There are a lot of other areas where you can work on first usually that will give you a better return on your investment though

Thank you. That's kind of what I assumed. I've heard different opinions on this, but it's not like I have all this money to throw around for supplements even if the minor benefits do exist.

let me help you out bro...

go to supplement direct. Google it. For $15 you can buy 1000 grams of creatine mono to last you 3 months, if you're dosing it at a high 10 grams a day. They do independent 3rd party testing on their products. Beta-alanine is cheap there in bulk as well. Protein...you have to kind of have to be at the right place at the right time to get good deals. If you wanna try l-carnatine, supplement direct would be your best bet. Since you're buying bulk without any fancy containers you save a lot

I agree with rasc. I add taurine and arginine to my dailies. The only other thing I waste my money on is PWO which at this point I don't think really does much since I've been using PWOs for three years solid. I recently picked up two products for liver and adrenal health but I doubt if either does much more than reduce the money in my pocket! Lol

I appreciate it. After reading your post I actually took a look at the site and it seems like they have an abundance of supplements on sale for good prices. The protein I use (Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey and Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Casein) seem to be the same price as Amazon (where I currently get my supplements), but everything else seems to be cheaper. And if they have any kinds of discounts for bulk orders that's make it even better.

I may end up getting some l-carnatine if the price totaled ends up reasonable.

    Thanks for the answer.

I've never used a PWO before, but I got a free one from Labrada Nutrition because of a complaint that I had over another product from them I used and I may use if tomorrow just so I at least have a valid opinion on them and how they work for my body/workouts.

There are a lot of PWOs out there. I usually cycle through them because I adapt so quickly to them. If this is your first time, you'll likely feel the effect. Mostly an increase in energy and focus (sometimes a tingling sensation in your face, arms, or neck). Be sure to stick to the recommended dose. Some PWOs can be unpleasant if you exceed the recommended dosing guidelines (dizziness, heart palpitations, blurred vision, nausea, vomiting, headaches, etc.).

glad I can help bro! and since you mentioned amazon...try this little trick. Next time you're eyeing a tub of protein to buy there...take a second and use the subscribe and save option. What this does is that it sets up automatic shipments. But what you do is select 6 months as the next shipment and once your protein arrives you cancel the subscribe and save. Been doing this for the last year and save an automatic 15%

supplement direct is awsome. I just buy what I need in bulk there

and speaking of pwo's try out craze by driven sports. Tried so many different pwos and nothing comes close

I heard great things about Craze but also heard FDA might yank the current formula.

Appreciate the info. I've had some experience with dizziness with a sleep aid, so I know from first hand experience I don't want that.

Thanks for the tips and pwo suggestion. Here's the thing with Amazon though. I have the student prime membership so I get free 2 day shipping, which usually has me waiting to the last minute to buy my supplements. I did the subscribe and save once (for some reason it was only 5% off) and the fish oil didn't ship for about a week. Which was fine, but if it's 15% off, I'm defiantly going to do that on all supplements I buy from there for now on.

I tried that Labrada Nutrition pwo out and I'm in love with pwos now (I won't always use them though), and the funny thing is I've been reading that this is a mediocre one. I ordered Craze so I'll have that by Friday to test out.

I took it like it set on the directions, 1 scoop to 2 scoops (1 for me since it was first time), and within 15 minutes I couldn't stand still I had so much energy, but in the same breath I could stand still from all the concentration I had. It's weird, but the drive to the gym was even more clearer. No side effects except when I was stupid and didn't follow the directions: 1-2 scoops not to go over 2 scoops per day, where I had used 2 scoops for a push pull workout in the morning, and then another scoop in the afternoon for back and overhead squats, and for the first 15 minutes of the second workout it felt like I was going to have a heart attack from the pounding. Real funny thing is I counted my beats and it wasn't going that much faster then usual. But that feeling went away fast.

    Preworkout:

    Beta alanine
    Citruline malate
    L-tyrosine
    Caffeine
    +/-

    As for carnitine:
You need it to be the acetyl version, and forget about it, the cost of effective doses is to damn high.
