This can't be normal
Well, today I was deadlifting with no wraps just chalk as usual, and everything felt fine. Well about 20 minutes after the deadlifts all my knuckles, except the thumbs, turn purple. They don't hurt, and I have all mobility, they are just purple. Has this ever happened to anyone before?

If you are used to wearing straps that can take away from wrist strength but will allow you to lift more weight. So when you did not use the straps & lifted the same weight then your grip was strong possibly affecting blood circulation. Turning blueish or skin color change indicates lack of blood/oxygen.

Did they go back to normal yet? I would say it's just a bruise from the intensity of the grip.

I never have used straps, just chalk. Yes they did go back to normal, I guess it was just from the intense grip.

That happened to my penis once...intense grip. I should have used chalk.

I use hooks for deads and shrugs. You dont have to grip the bar tight at all.
