overtraining becomes easier when u are stronger?

I read somewhere, that the stronger u are, the less training you are suppose to be doing. It said that because when you are really strong, in each set you do, destroys more muscle than a person with weak muscles, in which, it take longer to rebuild, thus if you did do that many sets when u were benching 200that wouldn't be over-training, but when ur benching 400, it would be overtraining.
    So is this true?

a more advanced trainee will be able to squeeze out a harder contraction with more intensity and focus. this additional intensity could cause overtraining. ...in reality though the whole situation is very complex and difficult to answer with a simple yes/no.

well i'd think it would take longer, simply because recover doesn't speed up and muscles become larger. But if there is something i don't know then what is it?

the body's ability to recover does improve to a significant degree. .... all other factors being equal your work load should decrease a little as you develop.

so your still suppose to be training a body-part only once a week instead of twice a week when u just start training?

i would recommend whole body workouts three times a week for the first three - six months of weight training. after that i would go to a three on, one/two off and repeat split for the next year.

yes it is true to an extent, i train every body-part every 8-9 days now, and, since early 2005 i have added about 140lbs to my bench press for reps. That means very ample recovery till i blast the targeted bodypart again, and boy do i blast it to hell!

Personally i do not like full body workout routines, because most of the time youre only doing 1 exercise per bodypart (e.g. 1 for chest, 1 for back, 1 for quads etc) read one of the topics up top that pinnacle posted and it explains it. I'm not saying it does not work, i'm saying i don't think it would work for me.

The reason being I find when i get a very good pump in the area i am training that day, i get a beter workout all-around. I do not feel i would get as good of a pump doing just 1 exercise per bodypart and then training like 5-6 bodyparts that workout. And the muscle is sore, meaning i worked it well.
