    Forearms/calves

    Hey everyone, just wondering how often these 2 muscle groups can be worked, I am lacking a little in both, so I often hit them 2-3 times a week. is that too much?

    You'll get ranges from 1-2 x week to 6-7 days a week. I would not personally train them more than twice a week as I feel your time is better spent on other areas. If you are a fairly competitive bodybuilder and judges have dinged you on forearm or calf size, then OK, train them a bit more. You have picked the two hardest parts of the body to actually make consistent gains. That is not to say that you can't make gains, it just seems much tougher. You could be walking down the road and see a guy who looks as though he's never even seen a weight in his entire life have enormous calves (decent definition) and see a powerlifter that squats 800 with no calves. Calves and forearms are IMO more strongly related to genetics. I say this only from my personal experience. I have never seriously trained calves or forearms yet they are 2 strong bodyparts for me. Is this because I do something different in my training (or lack there of), or is it because my mother and father both have large muscular calves?

    Train them 1-2 times a week (I prefer one session of high weight low rep sets 1 week, followed by low weight high rep sets the next week). There's alot of musculature to train with the forearm...train all of it.

    i never "work" forearms, as I think they get enough of a work out w/ everything else.

    calves I do 3xs a wk

    ive never worked forearms before in my life, i hit claves every second day though, same with abs.

    i never work calves, the only workout they get is from the uphill slope outside my house, i walk fast on my toes and they are one of my better parts, have the heart shape thingy goin on, but ive used to be overwheight and ive noticed that those who have been/are overwheight have really big calves..
