    Staying motivated

I was looking around the posts and was just curious if you guys have any tricks to get motivated. I used to lift constantly but after I moved to a new city I slowly lost motivation. Trust me, im still interested but I dont feel intense when I try to excercise. Any ideas?

Maybe find a partner to work out with. That always does the job! he can spot you, motivate you, talk to you in between sets etc....(get someone who knows his shyt somewhat tho) cuz if not it will be a waste of time.

New gym is good - if there are guys bigger than you.

Try working your favorite body parts first, it may get you in to the groove and help you to stay positive.

If you listen to music - change the songs up.

If you have any pictures of yourself from before you started training - post them at home to keep you reminded of what you could look like.

Check yourself for overtraining and maybe take a week off.

    Hope those help.

kind of gay(not literally)...I always picture a dude i saw at a bar at the beach then compare myself when I was pudgy and from then on all i have to do is picture that and say to myself that I'm way bigger and ripped and i'll never be that chubby blubber again.

Good advice...I never thought about it but the people at my old gym and city in general were in far better shape.

Hopefully ill find a good training partner too. thx for the articles...some good reading material was what got me lifting in the first place- The arnold schwarzenegger encyclopedia

You know how I motivate myself ? I have a picture in my head of how I want too look, and I know I can do it with hard workout and good diet, and when I will get there people will look at me and be amazed/jelous a bit of my looks I know its a long way to get there... but everytime your getting lazy.. think of that All people looking at You You can go with tank top on everywhere You want etc. Whatever that makes You excited about what would You do, be like when You`d look the way You want! Its all possible man... just gotta work for it!

    Hope this helps!
    Take care

one way or the other you will motivate yourself; either now, or after you drop 20 pounds of muscle and look like you have a disease. You make the choice of when it's going to be!

For me to remain motivated to train, I like to get involved in a sport. It gives you training more purpose when you are competing.
