    Tricep routine

    Hi guys,

I'm changing my workout and I need to know what you suggest as a tricep day

    Max reps and max sets.

    Here's what I'm up to

    Benchpress close grip 2*8
    Skullcrusher 2*6
    Dips weighted 2*8
    Frenchpress 2*6
    Cable pulldown V grip 2*8

Is 10 sets of 6-8 reps too mutch?

    Thanks for answering

10 reps is too much IMO. for a small muscle. I dont think I even do 10 for my chest.

What r your goals? What kind of a workout are you looking at? like a 1 muscle per week thing or what?

Yep a 1 muscle per week

    day1 chest/bi
    day2 Lats/tri
    Day3 shoulders/legs

I want to get mass in my triceps
But I like the little curve that the latteral sides does

    for mass, skullcrushers are good.

Maybe some close grip bench, with strict form and focus on tris.

keep weightheavy enough todo 5-8 reps

i work with high and low reps as these effect the muscle differently.

    dips are best imo
    then heavy french press
    then close grip bench.

spend a few weeks maxing out on high reps(14-16) then increase the weight and move down into the lower reps(4-8),leave no stone un-turned is what i say.

making the muscle work harder each week creates a great environment for growth.

Sorry I just realised that I messed-up in my first post I edited it...

    I meant 10 sets of 6-8 reps .... not 10reps of 6-8

Still these are my favorite exercises maybe I can take out the cable pushdown....

or the frenchpress (one arm extention) since i'm doing skullcrushers

Usually on monday's I'll do chest/tri's that looks something like this:

Cable pull downs 4 sets of 8
    Skullcrushers 4 sets of 8
    Dips 4 sets of 8

This is plenty of exercise as working chest (bench etc) works triceps. Monday is the first time I have done this routine and I still feel my triceps a bit.
