    Achilles Recovery+Muscle Memory+Diet= BIG Question

Good day everyone. Long time reader, first time poster.
Ok..Long story short. I tore my achilles (Ouch), and had it repaired about 3 months ago. Ok, my transformer walking boot of a leg is coming off this wk, and rehab is to ensue immediately. I had a full cast on for the first 6 weeks with no pressure, while these past 3 weeks I have started to put full weight on my injured leg(left). My thigh/calf looks like a celery stick, woo hoo!
My problem is that over the past 3 months, I have been more than "generous" in my eating, and have decided to clean up my diet, primarily by restricting calories to around 2000(40/30/30). I have no doubt that during my regular eating regimen, between my body's muscle memory and rigorous exercise, my leg would rebound back to its former muscularity, however, by restricting my calories, I am afraid of slowing my legs muscular recovery time. I have received mixed answers, mostly saying, my leg will rebound, ok, great, just wondering if anyone has a better opinion/experience with muscle memory while restrictively eating.
In lay-man's terms : Does a low-calorie diet inhibit muscle memory recovery in severe atrophy?
    My Stats: 23, 6ft, 200ish, 14%, working out 8 yrs
And in case you are all wondering...
Even with a gimp leg, I work out...feeble as it may be, I work out!

    Thanks
