work on pushing movements. shoulder press, bench press. A lot of your power comes from your shoulders. Front delt raises will help a lot. Obviously technique is going to help. But thats not even most important. For instance you can hit someone as hard as you want with as much speed as you want with a pillow but it will only hurt so much. pain comes from density. this is the reason a 1 inch wide lead baton hurts twice as bad as a 3 inch wide wooden bat. so to do this, condition your knuckles, wrist, and forearm. i do this by simply finding something hard like smooth cemement and just punch it. start light cause it will hurt. do it everyday. over time your bones will adapt to the stress and become more dense. its called Wolffs Law. hope that helps.
    Does this work?

Yes it does, I do something similar with a hesian coverd block of wood... once bone is briused calcium deposits build up and over time hardens and enlarges the knuckles, although you will still need a level of skill to hit fast and accurate... no point having an F22 if you cant fly it.

your bones are very similar to muscle.

again its called Wolffs law. look it up.

if you ever look up osteoperosis, a common recommendation is weight training. The bones have to adapt to the added stress.

seen those power team guys break 30 bricks? you think just anyone can do that? of course not your hand would snap. they have to condition their bones and they do that by adding stress to the bone for the body to adapt. you body is constantly adapting. which is why bodybuilding works. its compensating for this added stress on the muscle because it doesnt like it. same goes for the muscles. your body doesnt like these microfractures so it builds it stronger in hopes to stop it. but you increase the pressure. eventually your bone density will be crazy and you punches will hit like a ton of bricks.

wonder why chuck liddell knocks people out all the time? it sure the hell isnt his alcohol filled muscles. The dude either genetically has dense ass bones ( which i think is the case because his training is commonly known as lack luster and his jaw seems to share the same characters) or he trains them.

not all of us have such luck with genetical thick bones. my shins are one of the most sensitive spots on my body naturally. many are the same. you step into a MMA or Muay thai camp and they immediately start conditioning you shins....i wonder why??

i just dont know why they dont take this concept to the hands. to me practicing with glove is the stupidest thing you could do. all you are doing is weaking your hands (strength, bones, connective tissue.) you wont have gloves on the street.

Imagine walking around with huge 1 ft thick pillows surrounding your feet, do that for a month. then walk barefoot outside. your foot will have adapted. it wouldnt need strength there. caluses (sp?) would go away. everything would get weak. i think this applys with boxing gloves. people wear gloves when they hit the bag to avoid wrist pain and bruised hands. why are they bruising and getting wrist paint? because their hand isnt strong enough.

    very simple imo

but yeah to sum it up....hit a wall. itll hurt. give it a days rest. take calcium supps. go back and hit a little harder. keep this up till you can punch the wall at 75% strength with no pain. i guarantee you will break the jaw of the dude that wants to fight.

the gloves i have arent boxing gloves, there the ufc gloves, a very thing layer of padding. my knuckles are already torn to shit this way so as soon as I dont feel pain after several rounds with the bag thats when i will start punching the wall because i know my hand isnt even tough enough to handle that yet

Strap your hands during bagwork you dont want to tear them to shit it will only hinder your hand conditioning, bag work is for developing power/tehcnique, that way your hands will recover quicker from the specific conditioning exercises such as wall/concrete/wood as mentioned in this thread.

Im 43 been doing it for years no sign of any ill effects, the chinese instructor who showed me how to do it 20 years ago was 45 then and he was fine too, Ive heard that said also about arthritis so at the time I asked my doctor who said providing you give yourself time to recover there shouldnt be a problem, personaly I do specific hand conditioning only 2-3 times a week.

Not realy but certainly desensitized, if you dont do it regular for a few weeks they start to get girly soft again real quick. I like to maintain them at a level so's I can punch a hard object full power at least five or six times with no pain whatsoever, I might add Ive never actually used my fists to pummel someone in a real fight situation but you never know when you might need it.

show me i bet its very vague claims from unspecified sources. but go ahead and show me.

    dont believe everything you read...

but hey if you wanna believe it go ahead, keep hitting people ineffectively.

cracking your knuckles gives you arthritis as well, right?

I would work on doing Negatives, alot of boxers and fighters do these because it makes your hands better at pushing, therefore your arms move faster causing more damage.
