Supplements are useless unless the diet is on target. Start at the diet section here if you dont know what to eat. If your diet is all good then all you need for the first few months is some whey protein, glutamine, and a multivitamin and maybe some vitamin c for a cheap antioxidant.
After you hit the gym for a few months look into some creatine and maybe some NO2 supplements. those are the only two supplements on the market that i know of that actually do what they claim, other then the supps i listed above.
The reason i say train without NO2 and creatine is because your gonna grow no matter what you do for at least 3 months. Believe me its like a breath of fresh air when you take creatine for the first time and youve been working out for a while without it. You will be amazed what it will do for you when youve plateued without it.Last edited by doolo; 05-11-2007 at 03:47 AM.

As for workout routine. Its hard to just tell someone how to work out. Get someone who knows what they are doing to help you and start reading as much as you can handle.
All i can say is warm up with low impact stuff like an eliptical trainer, stationary bike and/or free squats or both until you start to prespire a bit and have good blood flow to your feet and hands. and stretch like a mofo after your warmup. its crazy important to have flexible hamstrings as this allows you to do the mass building lifts better and safer like deadlifts and squats. Start SLOOOOWWWWW and dont work any one muscle more then once or twice a week for the first while. Stay away from cardio around your weight training because its counter productive in muscle growth.
The key thing is recovery which includes lots of sleep and protein and plenty of time inbetween working the same muscles. Muscles are sort of like a calus, they breakdown and get all torn up and abuseed, then they rebuild stronger and harder so they can take the same abuse without getting brokendown.
Hope this helps
Good luck

forget supps for the moment. Go to diet forum and put a good diet together. This is THE most important factor of all. Without it you will achieve nothing.
Then for the first week try doing an all body routine and use lots of different excercises (im sure a trainer will show you some) just to get used to how to use the weights with correct form ect.
Then come back here with your diet ready to post and ask again about routine and I will happily critique both routine and diet to help you.
