hurt my forearm doing preacher curl

I have not been able to workout since mid sept. doing mostly cardio. I messed up my wrist/forearm doing preacher curls. The pain is right in the middle of my forearm. I went to the doctor and he said take a break for 3-4 weeks. the pain has yet to go away. Any clue what this could be. and any suggestions. Also when i get back to they gym what should I do instead of the preacher curl. thanks

I get 100 percent the same thing. When i go super heavy on stand up EZ curls its so bad when i put the bar down my hand won't unlock at first and i have to wait for the muscle to sort of release on its own. Its weird but i keep on truckin.

I used to get that back when I was about 18 years old. I think it's tension or some shit on the ligaments or bone, at least thats what it felt like to me. I just worked my biceps lighter and worked through it, it eventually went away and has never come back

ya i know exactly what your talking bout, but usually happened when i used straight bar. had it a few times, sometimes it would go away on its own, once i took a two week break (from bi's) cause it got so bad that i couldnt curl 15lbs with my hurt forearm and the other one was working just fine.
it went away when i took the time off. but if you feel the need to get back in the gym i did hammer and reverse curls cause those didnt bother it.

I get the same thing doing preacher curls when I put the bar down. I've found it helps to rotate my wrists before the set to stretch the muscles and as I put down the bar after the set to keep my grip and flex my wrists forward (if that makes sense) before I let go of the bar.
