    just dont go overboard......if your gonna do high intenstiy, make sure its not to long.......worry about the other 23 hours of the day.......the other 23 hours of the day (food, rest), will dictate what happens to muscle.

    Totally agree,

    the only real way you will burn muscle is if your a nut and run like 10 miles a day. You only use about 4% of total energy consumed from protein. Its a very slow and inefficient process to convert amino acids to glucose to then make ATP out of. It just doenst happen that much unless you have no glycogen or fat stores.

    Losing muscle should not be as much of a concern as over-training the CNS. When the CNS becomes over-trained muscle loss generally occcurs.

    Some studies have suggested you begin eating away at muscle tissue when going past 1 hour. I think it's safe to say do not go past 1 hour when doing moderate intensity.

    Why all the cardio?

    CNS = Central Nervous System.

    If desired you can work your way up the muscular ladder by training in cycles. Simply do an anabolic prime (cut) before going into a mass phase (bulk).

    as long as your not completely caloric deficient. If you have access to and exercise physiology lab its really easy to test when your body has started using protein as an energy source. But not many have access to that and unless your an level athlete then there is no reason for it.
