I've been into Finnish melodic death lately. Kalmah, Norther and Children of Bodom. Swallow the Sun is cool if you like melodic doom. Dark Lunacy if you like neo-classical death. In Flames is a long time favorite. Trivium is cool, Soilwork's first 2 and newest albums. Threatsignal is a new Canadian melodic death band. Cathedral if you like a mix of doom and stoner metal. Crowbar and Eyehategod, if you like sludge. Rotting Christ is ok, standard death. Ankla is a good new one. Symphony X if you like neoclassical stuff like Yingwie or Jason Becker. Devildriver is ok, hatebread is ok. Static X if you like industrial metal. Lamb of God is cool. Dimmu Borgir, At the Gates/Grotesque and Dark Tranquility if you like melodic black metal. Path of No Return and Purified in Blood if you like metal/hardcore hybrids. They lean a little more to metal than the usual SOD/MOD kind of stuff. Almost forget about Arch Enemy, one of my favorite melodic death bands. Brujeria is cool if you like hispanic metal/hardcore, and the spin off, Asesino is more thrash/death. There's many more I'm sure. Plus there are probably many old ones out there you haven't heard.

Boys...
The only thing you are missing now is the deliverance music and you could all have yourselves a hoedown.
Get some AC/DC on the cranking iron list for a start .
No wonder young people use drugs these days

Parkway Drive

Well, he said new metal bands. If we are including everything you gotta go with the classics too. Like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and that sort of thing. Then there is old Metalica, Megadeth, Overkill, Slayer, Sepelatura, Celtic Frost......
You could expand into punk, Misfits, Ramones and Sex Pistols are my favorites. I like some of the newish ones, like Jack Off Jill, Veruca Salt, The Lillingtons, Killing Time and yes even newer Misfits and Graves. NoFX is cool too.
