It depends if you are doing a traditional high bar oly-style squat or a wider stance powerlifter's squat.
Olympic lifting shoes all have elevated heels.
If you're squatting wide-stance then chucks are the way to go.

I find it depends on what function your are using your squat for. For more isolation of the quads similiar to olympic style squating, a heel will creat a lean that have you push off your toes a bit more causing more tension in the quads. A flat shoe will allow you to drive through your sole, utilizing your hips and hams to a greater degree for a more "powerlifting squat." In my opinion, a wide, ham/hip driven squat is better for overall development but it really depends on what your trying to do. I have never used "squat shoes" but feel they are overpriced and something along the lines of wrestling shoes should work.

thanks guys, i think i will go against flat shoe for now unless if i'm not going heavy.
