I think at the end of the day it's not how much you can curl but how much you look like you can curl.

I end my third set with 85lbs for 10 reps and my arms are shaking like crazy on the last 2 (very strict form) 2 second positive, 2 second negative.

I almost never go heavy on barbell curls. I squat 405 x 6 and I would say I curl 80 x 6 with good form. Too many people cheat and call it good form. Elbows should never move. And of coarse don't swing.

I almost never curl. Only reason I do at all is because my training partner would freak out.

Perfect form on barbell curls? That takes all the fun out of it for me. This is my bulking execise where i usually(no, almost always) cheat.
I do 155-185 til it hurts. It's usually like 5-2 reps respectively. And yes, i cheat a little.
No cheating: 135lbs.

well used to be 175 x 8 reps with minimal cheat, perfect form probably would have needed to drop 15-20#,now days 100 x 8-10 reps perfect form.
