bicepts soreness
no matter how hard i lift my biceps or how many sets I do my biceps almost never get sore the next day. It's aggervating! I was wandering if any of you guys knew some good lifting techniques/workouts to kill my biceps.

Answer Questions with help needed..
MCX if you can't give an answer then don't answer at all..this is a smartass comment to a legitimate question and that's all you can come up with..you shouldn't even be responding to anyone if you can help..people like you should keep your opinions to yourself because they offer nothing.

so even if they are not sore they are still growing?

Well bigmuny, looks like your post was a waste of space as well, way to promote what your preach. I own a gym, i have been a trainer for over 10 years and probably have forgotten more than some people will ever know when it comes to exercise. I think, that if someone is going to involve themselves in any sort of hrt, they should have some basic knowledge on anatomy and body chemistry. HAVING said that, I have no idea if Gary is on anything or not, but it doesn't hurt to read up a bit.
Gary. Measurements are key. That and photos. Take photos of yourself, keep track of your workouts, take measurements of your various body parts/muscle groups, keep a diet journal. Then in 4 to 8 weeks, do all those same measurements again. These things will tell/show you whether or not your growing.Last edited by mcx; 02-24-2009 at 01:21 PM.

try some bicep cable curls...start at 75% of your max...do 10 reps, drop it 20 lbs (no rest) do 8 reps (drop another 20 lbs) do 8 more and then drop another 20 lbs and do 8 more reps.
try 3 - 4 sets of those
they smoke my arms every time
21's are another great bicep exercise
(they're correct about soreness and efficacy though...give those exercises a shot...if youre not already)

Try working your back along with bis, throw in some supersets. Do pull-ups then go straight into a set of curls, use a weight you can do 4 second negatives 2 second positives with GREAT form for about 10-12 reps, no half assin. Once you get close to failure, use momentum to get the weight up, and continue to do the 4 second negatives.
Get that intensity up, no reason why your arms should not be sore 'at all' if your intensity is right.
Mine don't get sore sore, but I always know I worked them the day after back/bis

well the way i like is get set up on a preacher curl pad with like 20 pounds and you need a buddy to lift it up for you and then pull it smoothly down while you try to keep it up , you will get the hang of it quick. this really tears them down!

As someone said above, soreness doesn't mean shit. For example, when I work my triceps, they are sore as hell the next day. However, they are pathetic andn on-existant due to genetics. I have some pretty nice biceps, but they never get sore the next day. It makes absolutely no difference.

I have this problem as well. My biceps and shoulders are really the only two muscle groups that I have this problem with, and they are the two that I feel I work the hardest.

nice bump this thread was very informative.

I had this problem for about 8 years no matter what i did they werent sore and werent growing.unless i had a week off then hit them then they would be sore but other then that they wernt
I will give you some tips to try if your interested. This is what i used and my arms are one of my best bodyparts now.Worked for me but who knows?
train every body part sepratly
eg
day1 back
day2 chest
day3 off
day4 arms
day 6 legs
day 7 off
day 8 shoulders
repeat day 1
when doing arms i did triceps first bout 10 working sets then for biceps all i did was 8 working sets
eg Straight bar curl 3 x 12-8
ez preacher bar curl 3 x 12-8
Cable flex curls 2 x max reps light weight hold for 1 sec intervals
From doin my 8 day program like that i found they were getting plenty of rest after back and sometimes.A litttle soreness after back as well!!
my rep speed on biceps is quite slow as well alot slower than every other body part.So i was justing trying to feel every rep on both ecctentric/contcentric phase.
Remember the biceps is quite a small muscle compared to your major body parts so they dont need much work to grow good luck
