    morning workout

Okay, I am trying to loose drop body fat, I lift in the AM first thing, because this is what works with my schedule.

I want to also do cardio first thing in the AM on an empty stomach.. ..

So far what I have been doing is... Running 45min in the AM.. I have some BCAA's and some quick carbs (oatmeal + maybe gatorade).. Wait 30mins.. then start hitting the weights..

My Question: Am I going to loose muscle doing this or will I be safe?

    Thanks

I've been in this situation (with the schedule)

what I did was had my regular breakfast, lifted, then did cardio.

I have to do cardio first or else wait for the PM..

Bunch of us at work hit the gym at 7:45ish,... we need to be done by 8:45 so we can shower and be ready for 9..

So what i've been doing is showing up around 6 running 45 eating.. checkup on e-mails.. then to weights

45 min of cardio isn't going to impact your muscle building/retention capabilities.

If it is high impact cardio then why wouldn't it? Isn't important to distinguish between the two? I am asking because I am unsure not because I have a different answer. 45 minutes of high impact cardio would and has effected my muscle retention in the past.

dont go too long without some form of nutrition, what about alternating your weight and cardio days?
