    Not to plan your workouts:?

Is it not to have a planwhen you hit the gym, just have a few simple rules. So if your working out 3days a week you would deside what days you work each muscle group and how meny reps and sets.

Only when you get into the gym do you deside what you want to do for that muscle group. This way it ant going to be the same sh*t week in week out.

Are there any down sides to this idea

I don't see any big downsides. I mix it up every now and then. It helps me break plateaus and stay motivated. Just make sure u hit all the major muscle groups every week.

one downside is you won't know what's making you progress, and if your not progressing, why your not, because you
don't have a steady schedule. in theory it sounds good because your confusing your body, but not knowing what your progress is coming from, that's the one downside i see with it
