    just started deadlifting

    ive found out i love doing this exercise more than anything, gives me a proper buzz, want to do more. cant at mo due to injury but cant wait to start again. got to buy more weights

    sorry mate. the question is when you deadlift ive seen people do it with one palm in and one out, is that a true deadlift as i do it with both palms facing in.

    i used to deadlift with both palms in... but you'll see that as you start to lift heavy you will not be able to hold the weight that way, which is why i lift with one in and one out.

    Alternating grips is a strength issue. Most people switch grips to over/under when holding the bar becomes an issue. If you can hold on to the weight using a double overhand grip then I suggest you do so.

    In and Out grip makes it easier to hold bar but if you have enough grip strength to hold the bar with both palms facing out then do it.

    The issue is grip strength. The reason powerlifters use an over/under grip is because they have trouble holding on to the bar using a double overhand grip.

    people use supinated/pronated grips, due to the bar slipping out and finding it hard to grip.
    i just use both pronated grips, also you can use straps to hold the bar when the weight starts to get really heavey and feels like its slipping out.
