    more reps for cutting?

I know to drop bf and staying lean is 80% diet and cardio, but how about weight training? Over the past few months my friends and family have been telling me that I have gotten bigger overall. Believe me, its great to hear that. But Id really like to look more vascular then bulkier. Again, I realize that its 80% cardio and diet. My question is do I train like 3-4 sets of 6-8 or 4-5 sets of 10-15 at a lighter weight?

    Example : my monday chest routine is - 3 sets of 8; 50, 60, 70, and 80 for 5
with dumbells that is or shoud I do 4-5 sets of 12 w/45 lbs. slowly squeezing the muscle and limiting the rest period between sets to 60 sec.max???

cutting or bulkin is basically all around diet i dnt know where you got 80% from lol, maybe jammys title? lol... anyway high reps will expel more calories and more muscle glycogen.. tahts about the difference... so yea higher reps with a shorter recovery HR will burn more calories.. BUTT BUT BUT... you want to gain/maintain as much muscle as possible and by focusing on lower reps you will do this rather than higher reps... stick to diet and cardio as cuttin routines, unless you are OBESE

no problem bro, yea thats what i would do.. i only recommend high rep circuits for obese or beginners to expel alot of calories.. for us its not ideal... for a week or 2 off you could train at 80% intensity using the 12 rep range to strengthen joints and of course ALWAYS add in a few high rep sets during your current routine to hit different muscle fibers and allow for more growth.

its funny to mention about strenghtening joints because lately my left shoulder has been bothering me on chest days thats why I asked about the more rep ques. I thought that I would get 2 benefits by lowering the weight and raising the reps for cutting and helping my shoulder out as well.

Do you feel it more when you use a machine that is utilizing a cable rather than free weights??

mostly when free weights but when I would shoulder presses on machine w/light weight, it still hurts. I could not even do upright rows w/light weight on cables...as an example...

I have been getting some of that lately in my right shoulder up top and sometimes right below my shoulder blade on my right, I started to take an extra day of rest from lifting. so now I only lift 4 days and rest 3 and do cardio 7 days a week. also got some glutamine pills to help with the recovery time and that has seemed to help me a bunch.......

    lol, my order of glucosamine should be here tomorrow as well. as far as my training, Im on 5 days/weights and 6 days/cardio - mon/thur - chest/biceps/abs - tues/fri - back/triceps - wed - shouold/legs.

    I guess I could......mon - chest/bis, wed - shoulders/legs and fri - back/tris and do cardio 5 days and abs 2-3 times/week???
