but i am fully fully with you about controlled movement and no bouncing.. that is actually a pet pev of mine when i see somebody turning bicep curls into a back workout.. or bouncing a barbell off their chest three inches..
yeah I hear ya man... Fair enough on the negs....

I dont do just negative workouts anymore, dont get anything from them.

I do olympic lifting allmost exclusivly in the gym and have really noticed with this more than anything else that in order to add weight sometimes form is very easily sacrificed!!

I am a power lifter not a body builder.. but you made a call for pics, and since i took part in friendly debate with you, i'll come through on the request..

    Stats
    5'8''
210-220 I go up and down in that range
Bench-505 (touch and go) 495 (paused)
    Deadlift- 575
    Squat- 535
    2-mile run-14:27
    2 min situps- 81
1-min push-up-78 ( you don't get points for over max, so i get up in one min not two)
    dead hang pull ups-21
all of these is something i have done within the last two months...

but since i'm probably higher BF than most of you body builders you have to take into account my size might be alittle more and not "pure" muscle..
    bicep-17.75
    calf- 17.75
those are the only two i know right now
Sorry for yet another quote but DAMN that some serious weights and good results.

17.75 biceps. I'm only 1 1/4 below you. LOL I have no idea on the calfs, Ill have to measure someday.
Running. NOPE, dont do ANY, 3 herniated disks.
As far as weights, I'm a wimp. I do ALL light weights, I dont even hardly bench over 200 or 225 most of the time. I'm to afraid of hurting myself anymore LOL

    Keep up the good work.

BTW the eccentric seems to work for me, that is basically what I have been doing the last year and it has given me more size than I ever had before in a lot less time. I think I need to start mixing it up a little though and adding a little more weight to my workouts so I can get some size to the arms.

i like to mix both worlds, and its been working great for me. One week ill try go heavy with a lil slacking form, but the next week , ill end up lowering the weight a lil and cranking it out with proper form . I enjoy it.

    FORM 100%!!!

When it comes to pace of the exercise. You should be switching it up.

    Example of bench-

For three weeks do 4 seconds down, pause then 2 seconds up

Next three weeks, do something called progressive where you only do negatives with about 20% more of your max. lower it for a count of 6-8 seconds, then have someone help you bring it up. Do that for three weeks, then when you move back to normal 4 1 2….your bench will hop up dramatically.

When people first go into the army they can hardly do one chin up. They do the progressive way by jumping up and lowering themselves. In no time they are doing weighted chin and pull ups.

But of course all with perfect form
